1998 Ford Escort runs normal about 20 miles, then loses speed and slows down to crawl. If I shut down a few minutes and start again,it runs normal a few miles and the same thing.

Do you have any codes in the ECM ? Have you checked for any vacuum leaks ? Can you add more detail information as to when it first began to have issues and what have you done to correct this problem.

Why does 2000 s40 volvo turbo runs hot and the fan stays on after shut off

fans are designed to run on after you shut engine down as engine temperature rise after switching off . running hot could be caused by the top hose having gone soft when you rev the engine the water pump sucks the hose flat stopping the coolant flow or the radiator is blocked and need flushing out

1999 ford Taurus SE Blower motor runs with engine off and drains battery

Is it a temperature-controlled fan? I've seen some cars that run their fans for a few minutes after the car is turned-off, to cool-down the engine. After a few minutes, it will automatically shut off -- it also shut-downs when the "target" temperature is reached.

Runs good shut off for a few minutes restart runs terrible engine spits and sputters

A bad fuel pump may cause a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l to run for a few minutes and just shut off without sputtering. It can also be that the fuel pressure regulator (on top of fuel pump assembly) is stopped up. Dodge Ram trucks have been named Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year three times.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Car starts, but when warm shuts down ,has to sit for 5 to 10 minutes before being able to start back up, seems like its not getting spark

Sounds like the typical main relay problem on your Accord. It runs fine, but when warm, will not restart for a few minutes after you shut it off. Have the main power relay replaced.

The car runs great but when I shut off the engine the fan continues to run. How can I get it to shut off?

The fan is controlled by a thermostat, it will (should) shut off by itself after a few minutes, after the engine has cooled down a bit.

If it continues to run after about ten or fifteen minutes (i.e., it does not shut off at all, and will run the battery down if you leave it overnight), then most likely the fan relay is sticking on, and should be replaced. Less likely is that the fan thermostat is bad.

But if it turns off by itself after about five minutes, this is normal and desirable, it gets some of the excess heat out of the engine.

Starts and runs good when cold. run a few minutes, turn off does not start again for a few minutes. like simething is hot or resets.

it sounds like your coil is bad, when they are going bad they will work when they are cold but as soon as they start to heat up they shut down and quit sending spark so i would recomend starting with that, let me know
