Might be the backing plate is touching brake rotor, have it checked and if plate is too close to rotor pull it away , it will make huge noise while driving, make sure about that.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport that has condensation and light white smoke coming out the back exhaust-what would cause this and how do I fix it?

If this goes away after warming up and driving for a while, dont worry about it .Its moisture that seeps in as exhaust system cools down, then when you start up water trapped in muffler boils off.

Our 2001 Santa Fe has developed a roar. I thought

If your noise is a low pitch rumble that gets louder the faster you go, it likely is a wheel bearing that is the cause. Another sign that the noise is from a wheel bearing is if the noise tends to get louder when steering one direction at a steady speed, and quieter when steering the other direction. A transmission noise does not change with the steering.

You must replace wheel bearings in pairs to avoid loading the old bearing and, in time ruining your new bearing hub it is possible that you have already damaged the new hub

Engine knocking on a 1995 mitsubishi montero

I use 6 to 6.5 litres in my 2800 (non-turbo) engine. Six litres is safe.

The loud noise: Careful please. I have had a big-end (the bottom of a connecting rod) come off while driving - Of course you loose one cyllinder's power and the noise is very bad. Also damages the crank shaft. If the noise does not go away by adjusting the oil level, have the engine checked immediately.
