It has a idler pulley you just get a 3/8 drive ratchet use the square end to fit in a square on the arm of the pulley pull or push down or up to release the tension on the belt but make sure the belt pattern in on the fan shroud if the car has never been wrecked make notes on how the belt rap around if no picture is not available also can use an extension on the ratchet to help get the belt off.

Loosen the tensioner bolts on the alternator and the main pivot bolt. Twist the body of the alternator until the belt is slack. Remove and replace belt, making sure it follows the same route. Twist the alternator until the belt is tight and do up the bolts you undid. There, now you have bragging rights when one of your mates has the same problem!

Where is the ecu located in my 1999 acura integra ls

It's underneath the floor panel, under the carpet on the passenger side of the interior compartment. You'll have to pull back the carpet to see what I mean.

What should someone do if they replaced the timing belt on 1999 acura integera LS without first aligning the number one piston Now the the timing is inncorrect , are there bent valves what is the best...

The engine is what is called an "interference engine" which means if the timing belt brakes while the engine is running the valves that are fully open will be hit by the pistons. If your engine was assembled with the cam timing slightly off your valves may be ok. The best advice I can think of is to re-time the engine following the correct sequence for the timing belt replacement and then perform a compression check on the engine. If the compression test fails you probably have some bent valves. removing the head and repairing the damage is the only thing left to do.

What is the size of the engine in a 1999 Acura Integra LS

The engine in your Acura is a 1.8 Liter inline 4 if no one changed it. Chances are it's the factory engine.

Can i put a 1994 acura integra ls trans to replace a 1989 acura i

I don't think this would be possible wihtout some hassles.

The engine type build changed twice between the 89 and the 94 series integra.

I would suggest you speak to Honda specialised mechanic before you purchase the 94 tranny.

Also check out the Honda forums as they ahve guys who have done some handy things with the ol integra
