Its possible that a bulb for a warning light such as CHECK/SERVICE ENGINE or ABS may be burnt out.
The PCM can usually detect that in newer vehicles and will make an audible chime or ding to bring it to your attention.
It may also store a DTC (code) in the PCM or ICP (a module).
I recommened having it scaned for codes and go from there.
