Does it quit all of a sudden? I have a 99 Cherokee that developed a stall problem... totally random and unpredictable... difference being I discovered I could at least get it restarted by replacing a fuse it was blowing.... eventually was discovered to be an exposed wire making contact with the firewall.

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) on the 4.7L V - 8 engine is bolted to the front side of the right cylinder head. Disconnect the sensors connector. Take out the bolt that holds the sensor in place. Lightly pry out the sensor being careful not to break it. Clean out the hole and install the new sensor( put a little oil on the new sensors o-ring to help installation).
