SOURCE: 1997 pontiac not turning over

to turn the theft lock off you must put key into ignition and turn to ACC, wait ten minutes (light will turn off) then turn the key to off position and pull out. Do this 3 times ( i know 30 minutes is a long time) and then after that the theft lock will turn off and your car SHOULD start.

It's in the column screwed to the back side of the lock cylinder. It comes with a wire harness that goes down the column to the bottom of the dash.

SOURCE: Check engine light flashing. Tried to get code. No

pull the connector off the lighter--they are notorious for shorting out. If that doesn't work, get back to me and I'll look up the wiring diagram for more ideas.

we dont have KB trucks in uSa, and this is a USA forum.
that is caused, by 2 things,
1: driven short distances, over and over, such that the oil never ever reaches full temperature.
2: or coolant leaked to oil side. (pressure test block>?)
3: or jiPHPHiboobs, put antifreeze in the wrong hole, as they are so famous to do. and worse.
4: PCV system dead. a tuneup and service point on all engines.

Ignition fuse blown

Depending on which fuse is blowing, you'll have to check the circuits involved for a short to ground.
IE - if it is the fuse for the key switch those circuits will need to be checked.

THESE ARE POSSIBLE CAUSES TO YOUR PROBLEM. CLASS 2 CIRCUIT IS OPEN SHORTED TO GROUND OR TO B+. THE PCM IGNITION POWER CIRCUITS HAS A HIGH RESISTANCE CONDITION. THE PCM MAIN GROUND CIRCUITS HAS A HIGH RESISTANCE CONDITION. THE SDM MODULE COULD BE SHORTED PULLING THE VOLTAGE LOW. THIS MORE LIKELY DEALERSHIP FIX.

Start by checking for a wire shorting to ground if that checks good you will need to go thru the circuit and check the amp draw at each component, fuel pump, ignition coil, ect. until you find the bad part

Blowing engine control 30amp fuse

basically what you want to do here is put a 25 watt bulb across the blown fuse.the dead short will limit the current to 2 amps and light up the light bulb.check all the wires in the ignition circuit one at a time, disconnecting them one at a time until the bulb goes out.then you know which line is drawing current. to blow a 30 amp fuse, that is 360 watts.looks like a short in a wire somewhere,or the ignition module that drives the ignition is shorted.find the module that is connected to the coil packs and disconnect it.see if the short is still there..
