Why wont Nissen 1.6 petrol Juke drive after stalling in morning for a few days. AA man said computer not showing a fault!

with nissan there is a procedure that requires a screw in the side of the ECM to be set before it reads out codes
it is not just a case of plugging in the scanner and reading codes
from your description it could be faulty crank/cam sensor_wiring to both or either-
or a failing ignition control module/coil from a component overheating and switching off
what ever ,there will be a fault code

First thing I would do is have the ECM checked for codes. Even if your check engine light is not illuminated it doesn't always mean there are no codes stored in the ECM. Some faults have to occur multiply times in different conditions before the ECM will illuminate the check engine light. Many auto parts stores will check them for free if you don't have your own code reader. At first I was thinking it might be a sensor problem like the Crankshaft position sensor or Cam sensor failing but it sounds like it's more than that with the thing about the Tachometer going to 0. I am wondering if there might be a circuit breaker in the electrical system that is overheating and shutting off and killing vital sensors or possibly the entire ECM for some reason. Maybe it's just a circuit breaker that has become too sensitive and needs to be replace or maybe its a grounding problem causing an additional load. These type electrical protection devices reset themselves after they cool back down which would explain the stat up and drive again after for a shorter period of time.

You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type. Also engine mechanical problems ca cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms

Engine managment light came on drives for 10 to 15 miles then stops stats again after 20 mins then drives again same thing keeps happening

Most auto part stores will hook up a code reader for free to see what fault(s) have been detected. You can't get any answers until you find out what codes are present.

Just put n a new fuel pump. Car ran for about 5 miles then cut off. it sat for 20 min before starting up again. has since cut of several times but restarts immedaitely. Can't figure out whats wrong

if check engine light is on. have the car scanned for a problem code. any auto parts store will scan for free. but that is the symtoms of a bad crank sensor. have it scanned first.

My guess is that you have either a bad contact in the wiring or the ECM detects a fault and prevents the engine from starting. The only way to know for sure (apart checking the entire wire loom starting with the key switch) is to have the error code read. Do that ASAP, running the engine with a fault can't be very good for it.

Some times hard to start then tick over lumpy then clears and run well then when revs drop engine cut out will not start no faults found on diagnostic

Is this the 3.0 diesel ? Most likely the rail oil pressure sensor is faulty but wont show as a trouble code cos it reads pressures  from 0 - 27Mpa and can  show pressure  even when  its not there ,hard to spot but pull the white wire from the car side of the injector loom by the dipstick and see if that sorts it out-  or the rail oil pressure control valve - this should show as about 20% on tech 2 at idle  if it goes below 15% the engine stops again no code will set .

5.9 DIESEL ENGINE CUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING

Hi

From what I can gather, the engine cuts out and then the check engine light comes on, not the other way around, check engine light and then cut out?

If you switch on the ignition but do not start the engine, you will see that the check engine light is on. It won't go out until you start the engine.

When the engine cuts out, it is just as though you have switched on the ignition without starting the engine, the key is in the exact same position, and therefor the check engine light comes on purely and simply because the engine isn't running, not because it has sensed a problem, hence you have no fault codes, its perfectly normal.

If, however, the light comes on then the engine cuts out, then the reason for the lack of codes could be a short term electrical failure. If the power to the ECM were briefly cut then the codes would be erased immediately, but this would have to be a complete failure because there is a KAM (Keep Alive Memory) wire, which supplies permanent power to the ECM if I'm not mistaken. A good candidate for a complete failure is a bad main ground cable (loose or broken).

Wiring problems a just the worst ever to trace.

Just a thought to hopefully point you in the right direction.

Very best regards

Geordie
