If a bad temperature sensor the fan might not come on at all, even though the engine is overheating.check the fan relay and or fuses. if all is fine, run a wire from battery positive to positive connection on fan, to see if the fans work themselves. you may or may not need to ground the fans. Good-Day!

What would cause car to overheat if it has engine coolant in radiator and reserve tank, radiator fan may not be working

If the fan doesn't come on when the temperature goes up, and it should, that's the reason it's overheating. Fix the fan or fan switch.

Overheating

Is the fan now working? Your engine will continue to overheat if you have not fixed the fan. Check the fuse for the fan, connectors, and replace the fan if necessary.

My a/c will blow hot air and then the car will start to over heat

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what exactly the issue is. You stated the Jeep overheated, correct? Then you stated that you had previously taken the Jeep in for work on the a/c. Was this previous to the overheating? And which fan motor are you referring to? The interior vent fan motor or the cooling fan?
The cooling fan has nothing to do with the a/c. It may help increase it's efficiency but the a/c will work fine with out the cooling fan. If you are having trouble with the engine cooling fan after the work you need to return there and make them fix it. You must also remember that the coolant fan works intermittently when the temp reaches the cut-in an cut-out setting. As far as the plug on the fan itself it is a simple connector and easy to replace.

The thing that is of most concern should be, how is the vehicle running since it overheated?
The liberty has twin overhead cam aluminum heads. These are susceptible to warping caused by overheating. If you are need to constantly check and fill the radiator due to overheating you may have other issues other then the Coolant fan.

Please repost with what motor was repaired (a/c vent or cooling fan).
Also did you notice a sweet smell to the smoke when the Jeep overheated?

Cadillac 2002 seville overheating

first i would want to make sure that the fans themselves are in good working order!! You can unplug the fan and run a live wire from the battery to the fan and a ground wire to the fan and see if it is working!! if you have nothing then your fan might be burnt up or the fan is trying to come on but it is so weak that it isnt doing the job the car requires
