SOUNDS LIKE EITHER THE WRONG FUSE OR PULL THE TAIL LIGHT OFF AND THE BULB AND SEE IF THERE IS CORROSION ON THE TANGS. OR A BROKEN WIRE TOUCHING METAL

Fuse panel called for a 20 amp fuse tried it, and went one bigger. I looked at the light housing, and replaced bulbs. All visible wiring looks good.

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

We have had freezing Temps. I started my 2001 VW Cabrio and suddenly a pool of oil leaked out of the car, what might be the cause of this?

at a rough guess without looking i woulod say that a hose has split or the core plug has popped out ,when you repair it make sure you have at least a 50% antifreeze solution even better still is to refill with pure 100% antifreeze ,this will not hurt the engine and can be left in all year round as the antifreeze is also an anti corrosion inhibitor

How to change a burned head light on a 2000 vw cabrio?

Changing headlights on VW Cabrio I just changed the headlights on my roommate's 2002 Cabrio, but I followed the instructions given for a 2001. What you have to do is: 1. Move the metal wire holding the black cover to the side and remove the black cover. 2. Remove the power cord from the bulb itself and push to the side. 3. You will see a pin holding the headlight in. Squeeze the pin (you want to squeeze closer to the top of the pin, which is the closed end; don't squeeze the open ends because all you will do is get irritated and hurt your fingers), then push it back and down. What this will do is move the pin away and then out from those little metal tabs that its going through. One side will pop out, then the other. When you get it out, the pin should be standing up, with the closed end pointing up. You can then remove the bulb and replace. Popping the pin back in is a heck of a lot easier than getting it out! I was able to remove the cover, but I got totally stumped on the pin. I hope this helps you out, it may be a little confusing but its kind of difficult to describe. Maybe this will at least point you in the right direction!
