Chevy monte carlo problem

The car has been sitting for 4.5 yrs. last time started was 1.5 yrs just got it started today and the signal & hazard light do not work. When i first parked the car everything was working fine. To get it started we had to boost it with the dead battery that was in it. I really need to sell this car, but i don't want to sell a lemon. asking $2500.00. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: turn signal and hazard lights only work sometimes.

since the hazard lights override everything in the car,the signal switch is not really suspect to me.look carefully for a broken ground in the rear tail light assemblies.those grounds are common to both circuits.
also check the flasher.

SOURCE: 2001 Monte Carlo battery goes dead over night

9 times out of 10 it is the factory amplifier. I had this same problem and it was the amplifier. Disconnect the amp located in the trunk by the speakers and see if the drain continues. You will not have music, but having the amp replaced with an aftermarket one will solve this problem,

Where is the flasher relay on a 2002 monte carlo

It's part of the hazard switch. have to take trim panel off to replace it .Apply the parking brake.
If the vehicle is equipped with a column shift, position the transaxle shift control indicator to 1.
Adjust the steering wheel for access.
Using a small, flat-bladed tool, gently remove the bezel from the ignition lock cylinder.
For the Impala, remove the right and the left access covers from the instrument panel (IP) fuse block.
For the Monte Carlo, remove the left access cover from the IP fuse block.
Remove the steering column filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
For the Monte Carlo, open the instrument panel compartment door.
Remove the trim plate screws from the IP cluster.

2001 monte carlo and my signal lights and 4 way flasher is making a xxxxxxxxx noise and sometimes they will flash and then the next time they will not sometimes the light will be on the dash and then...

most common problem is the turn signal/flasher module which is the hazard light switch on the dash. it is the cheaper of the two items also. you can try wiggling the turn signal lever when it makes the noise to see if it goes away, if it does then you have a bad contact in the turn signal switch on the steering column.

Need to locate a signal flasher for 2001 monte carlo ss

the signal flasher on this vehicle is part and parcel with the 4 way hazard switch. you must replace the whole hazard switch assembly if the flasher has gone bad. it is available at your local dealer, i believe it retails for around $65. good luck!

2004 monte carlo. Turn signals dont work. The stalk still works with other functions, such as wiper, brights. The fuse is fine. Could it be a bad relay? When u push the stalk up or down nothing happens on...

try pressing the hazards on and off if they still don,t work replace the flasher unit. it is built into the hazard switch( all one unit ) change this and all will be good.
