SOURCE: 96 camery sometimes stalls when come to stop or sitting idling. new plugs, rotor, cap, wiresair filter, o ring on distributor cause oil getting in, throttle body gasket, cleaned throttle body, did unplug

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Why is oil coming out of throttle body?

Hi Steven:
The oil will probably be getting into the throttle body through the PCV valve.
Odds are that it has become plugged open with grunge. You can try cleaning it with solvent, or replace.
Cheers

The sound goes away after either keeping my foot on accelerator or off completely. After just getting an oil change, they said I have build up on the throttle body. Can this be the cause of the faint noise...

Yes clean the throttle body with throttle body spray cleaner and an old tooth brush with a terry cloth. Take air intake hose off of the throttle body assembly open the throttle body, spray cleaner all around on the inside, use an old tooth brush to scrub the grime and wipe clean with a terry cloth. Repeat until cloth shows clean.

Your picture won't come up. If you are getting oil in the air filter housing, check your pcv system (Positive Crankcase Ventilation). Your pcv valve may be plugged or not working.
And just so you know, it is not a carburetor. It is a throttle body assembly with throttle body injection. You have fuel injection with injectors mounted in the assembly-much more reliable than a carburetor.

Location of the Throttle Body on 2008 toyota rav 4

Hi harry, the throttle body is the part mounted onto the intake manifold and is held in place by four bolts and nuts. One side fits onto the metal of the manifold with a gasket between, and the other side has the rubber ducting from the air cleaner. The throttle cable and kickdown cable are fitted to it. On the other side of the throttle body is the throttle position sensor. Do not carry out any adjustments to it. Cover it with a plastic bag and do not allow any cleaning fluid to contaminate it! Resetting the sensor requires special adjustments and very careful settings and can stop the engine from starting once refitted. Regards John

What would make oil come out of the throttle body on a 96 s-10 blazer?

check your pcv valve your crankcase may not be getting proper ventilation.you can find it on one of the valve covers. its a plug in directly into the valve cover and it allows for proper ventilation to the bottom of motor. when one gets clogged, they tend to **** oil into the throttle body of the motor. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Check engine lightp0170 fuel trim bank one check engine code the light stays on problem comes and goes runs rough feels like its going to stall untill i press hard on the gas and runs fine again have...

I'm guessing your mixture is too lean and it's possibly running a bit rough and there isn't enough fuel getting to the engine. A rich mixture is too much fuel, but that error is usually related to O2 sensors. It might be the O2, but 'trim malfunction,' you're looking at a vacuum leak. Check the oil separator valve then the throttle body gasket and then the intakes. Most likely a vacuum leak and the throttle body, oil separator and intake are the most likely. Run your hand around the bottom of the throttle body and oil separator, if it's greasy/oily there, there's a leak.

If there is no leak, test the MAF sensors...they might need cleaning, and in a worst case scenario, might need replacing.

My 1998 vw is getting less mileage per gallon, and my check engine light is on. I scanned it and the code came up that the throttle body control module needs fixed or replaced. Oh yes and the oil light...

yes it will!! you have issues with the tps and air flow valve on the throttle body also you may have to use a code tool to reset all that once the unit is replaced to insure proper throttle response and speed controll through the ECM to the new unit

Reduced power light came on

reduced power messge is not caused by oil pressure. i assume this a 3.0L v6. this engine has a electronic throttle body which is a electric motor that operates the throttle plate that takes the place of a throttle cable. in cold weather the pcv (positive crankcase venelation) system accumulates moisture that will form on the throttle plate, in cold weather the water freezes and causes throttle plate to stick. when the ecm detects any malfunction whithin the throttle control circuit it is put in to reduced power mode that limits throttle position. usually resets after ign. is cycled. there is a service bullitin to re-position pcv hose behind throttle plate to reduce moisture bulid-up on throttle plate. your saturn dealer can perform this service.
