This happens all the time and about the only thing you can do is replace it. The unit can come apart but you would need special tools.

The odds of both switches going bad at the same time is high, remove the door panel and tap on the window motor with a hammer, while trying the switches. I may have jammed up. Ground a test light and check the motor connection, while trying the switch, power will show on either side depending on if it turning up or down

Passenger window operates intermittingly. When it

The problem could be in the master window switch on the drivers door, or the window motor could be going out, but most likely the cause is a broken wire inside of the weather boot that runs between the door and the body of the vehicle, and the broken wire is making intermittent contact because the door is being opened and closed all the time, and sometimes the wire will touch and make the connection and that is why it only works sometimes.

Try this the next time that the window stops working, hold the window switch down in whatever direction that you want the window to go (up or down) and while holding the switch in that position open and close the drivers side door and move or wiggle around the weather boot that contains the wiring that is between the door and the body of the vehicle, and do the same for the passenger side door, if the window starts working while you are holding down the window switch and opening and closing the door or moving around the weather boot between the door and the body of the vehicle, then there is a broken wire or even wires that will need to be repaired.

The broken wire can be on either the passenger side, or most likely on the drivers side, and if you do find a broken wire or wires, then you should repair the wires by soldering them well and use the same gage wire if you need to lengthen the wire to repair it successfully, and do not use a wire connector if you want the repair to last.

Intermittent electrical problem

Try checking the ignition switch. Sometimes the internal contacts for the thick (aprox. 10ga) pink, dark green, or orange wires start to wear out. Check to see if you have power to all three when the key is in the on position. Seems like you might be losing power intermitantly on one of these. I've fixed this problem before by taking the switch apart and cleaning the contacts with 400 grit sand paper, but it takes a little skill. There are a few springs and tiny parts that can get lost. You can also replace the whole switch if you dont want to bother yourself with all the tiny pieces.

RR power window intermitantly works

You either have excessive dirt in the rubber channels that are slowing the window down, or, you have a bad window motor. Try spraying some 100% silicone spray into the tracks, beside the window, and raise/lower it. If that does not work, the positive coeffcient thermister in the motor is bad; ie replace the motor.

first if you want to attempt to repair of locate problem purchase repair manual ex:haynes or chiltons then get a multi meter with dc volts settings and impedance settings and a light tester then follow troubleshooting section and electrical system section this isnt the easiest find or repair it can be very fraustrating but Ill do my best:
first locate relays in electrical system section of repair manual test to see when switch is engaged either up or down that there is power coming from relay use schematic in electrical section to determine colors if there is move on
then remove power windows switch using multitester or light tester to see if theres power coming into and from switch in up or down position use electrical schematic in book to determine appropriate color wires
if no power coming to switch you have a wiring problem from relay to switch and the hunt begins looking for damaged wire or ground
then if there is power to and from switch move to regulator and make sure theres power coming in to it when switch is engaged if so your regulator is knackerd replace it if not find damage wire ground or break
if regulator is working and window is off track repair it using either winshield and window sealant/ adhesive or new clips and anchors
for parts see either dealer or these guys most of these parts arent readily available from regualr parts stores but you may get lucky
