Auto electrical troubleshooting

I just bought a car and the front turn signals aren't working. The bulbs were just replaced. Pretty sure its a problem with the wiring. Previous owner must've rewired everything to add on extras

Also, I belive I found the fuse box under the driver-side dash and connected it but then it started clicking constantly and drained battery power to the starter so I re-disconnected it.

Probably a poor alarm install. Look under the dash and see if any cheap connectors are installed. Then show that to the dealer.

SOURCE: change front turn signal

You have to remove the signal unit from the bumper using a normal " + " screwdriver then twist the bulb holder at the back of the sinal unit.

SOURCE: replace front turn signal bulbs

odd speed blinker is a message to tell you that a light bulb has burned or is disconnected. All front lights can be replaced from the engine compartment EXCEPT the turn signal :( .Unfortunately you will have to pull the headlight assembly out in order to reach the turn signal bulb. If the light was off since the assembly was replaced, there is a chance that the socket was simply left unplugged.

My left turn signal recently stopped working. Before ceasing to work, the turn signal (just the left) would blink very rapidly (machine gun speed).

sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck

What could be causing the front turn signals to not work?

Hi, it sounds like bad wiring like you say, you're gonna have to get rid of all the add on stuff, cause the way I see it, it might requiere a higher capacity fuse, the down side is you leave your computer more expose to electric damage and/or a short circuit leading to a fire (dangerous). Best solution is... get rid of all that stuff and if you feel it's best, re-wire.

Rear Turn signal is not working

Aren't your brake lights and turn signal lights on the same bulb, same filament? Recheck the bulb in the rear, as the rapid blinking is an indication of a burnt out bulb. If the bulb is the correct one and is good, check the connector and socket at the housing for a loose or poor connection.

2008 Chevy Cobalt front right turn signal is not working. Back right signal blinks fast. Left signals work just fine. I tried replacing the bulb and it did not work. Do I need to replace the...

No - headlight ok.
The reason that the Right turn signal blinks fast is that there is half the normal load (resistance)
on the right side, since the Right front turn signal isn't working.
Since you replaced the Right front turn signal bulb, your problem lies in the bulb socket or
the wiring to the socket.
(1) try cleaning out the socket - there's probably a contact problem in the socket. You
may need to squeeze the contacts together to provide good contact to the socket contact.
(2) if contacts inside the socket are ok, try back-probing the socket - to make sure that the
socket is getting 12V DC to light the bulb. Replacing a bulb socket is easy, and commonly done.
Any auto parts dtore should be able to sell you a new socket - its just a matter of cutting out the
old one, and then splicing in the new one. Most shops will use small wire nuts, buried under several
wraps of E-tape (electrical tape).
(3) if bulb AND socket ok, you have the worst problem known to man - a wiring fault. In this case,
you'll want to run a new wire from the flasher module (under the dashboard) to the turn signal.

2000 concord turn signal lights stopped working

It can be a multitude of problems.

Is it the front or the back?
If it is the front or and you have the ability to get it out, does it have the appearance of being "burnt-out" (be careful to never touch an electrical system on a car without disconnecting the battery first and letting it cool down). Without touching the bulb itself (the oil from your fingers can cause the bulb to burn out) inspect the area around the socket of the bulb and make sure it is tight. If it is and still will not turn on after making sure it is tight, remove the bulb after it cools down, take the bulb and users manual to the closest auto dealer and find a replacement bulb. If it still doesn't work. Talk to the sales associate at a place such as AutoZone or Oreillys. They can show you the ins and outs of your car.

Turn signals work intermittently what is wrong

Hello. Generally speaking- with turn signals, they either work or they don't work at all.

Here are the basic troubleshooting tips- if the light blinks extremely fast, that means a bulb is out on that particular side; either the left or right side. You will have to check whether the bulb is burned out in the front of the car or in the rear light assembly.

If the lights (either side) do not come on at all OR they do come on without flashing, the turn signal relay needs to be replaced.

And most likely this is the root of the turn signal working intermittently- you'll have to replace the relay- which is the easiest fix on any car.

Look in your car's owner's manual and look under the headings: electrical or turn signal lights or electrical panel, etc. It will tell you where to find the relay cluster for the signal lights. You can go to your local auto parts store to buy one (they are inexpensive) and I'm sure the counter person will show you where to find the burned out relay if not actually install it for you.

Hope this helps!

2002 Volvo V70, left turn signal will quick flash, rt side works

this issue appears many times because the wrong wattage bulb was used. the system measures the amperage flow to the individual bulb. if it falls outside the factory range ,, the indicator light will come on. I had a 1990 volvo myself. had a terrible time keeping good tail lights in that ****** but ABSOLUTELY loved that car. loved it so much I bought another (1998) model. it just wasnt the same driving experience as the 90 model though.
hope this helps...
