There are input seals and output seals on the trans.. input seal is the one where the trans is connected to the engine and requires the removal of the transmission, very hard complicated job. The output seals are where the axels come out of the trans.. these can be replace without removing the trans but again.. a hard job.. Are you possibky talking about the Trans Pan is leaking (bottom of trans) .. if so it can be removed and a new gasket installed.. If you do this replace the filter at the same time

Which Seal?

Have you gotten under & checked the driveaxle seals?

The big leak will be the torque converter pump seal
That requires removing the transxale

Sort of old to do that & not rebuild the trans while your at it

SOURCE: losing brake fluid(2001 kia sportage)

Check the rear wheel cylinders if you have drum brakes on the rear. Check the master cylinder cap to be sure it's on right & snug. Use D.O.T. 3 fluid, not synthetic. If you're losing fluid there's a reason. Check the front brake pads & slides for the calipers, could be frozen with rust & eating up the pads. Fluid would seem low if the pads are shot.

there are two pins one on each side that lock, you have to stick a small screw driver under each one to open them from the filter side. It is easier to remove the filter from the bracket

Flywheel oil seal leaking

This is called the rear main oil seal or the torque converter seal depending on what type of fluid is leaking out. To replace either seal you must remove the transmission from the car. You will need special tools and skills to properly install the seals or they will leak in very short order again. I suggest you have a trusted shop or the dealer do this repair.

Where to add gear oil to manual 2002 kia sportage

For a manual transmission, an SAE 75W-30 transmission oil is recommended. For an automatic transmission, Dextron II E or M-III is recommended. The 2002 Kia Sportage hold 2 quarts of transmission fluid. It is recommended that these fluid levels be checked every six months and changed or refilled as needed. The fill spout should be on the left side of the engine block and the fluid will be red in color.

Were do you put more transmisson fluid in a 2011 sedame v6

You add transmission fluid at the same place you check the level. If you do not have a dipstick to check the level it is a sealed for life transmission. There is a way to add fluid but it may be hard to find if the transmission is sealed. Call your local Kia dealer and they can tell you where to add fluid if you can without a special tool.

Manual Transmission stick jammed after BRAKE Light ON for a day. 2002 Kia Sportage ONLY drives in 4th gear. Mechanic says Brake Fluid in Kia Sportage Lubes and Cools Manual Transmission? Might have gone...

Need more info on what the trans is doing , or not doing. No chance that brake fluid cools or lubes your transmission. The only possible connection is that your clutch is hydraulic which would use brake fluid , but two totaly different systems. Does your clutch feel funny?

How do I check the transmission fluid level 2002 Jetta Tdi ?

Incorrect. There is no dipstick, but it's not sealed. On the front of the trans there is a 17mm allen head fill hole. On the lower driverside there is a drain. Don't have a 17mm? The lugnuts for the wheels are 17mm. Flip a lug nut in the allen and put a flat wrench on it.

No special tools, no special fluid and no special computers.
