That means that your car wasn't fitted with bluetooth module from factory. You can purchase at dealer but you're talking around $1k and from what I hear isn't the greatest.

I got a visor mounted blue tooth speaker from Motorola that works great in my 2005 S-Type.

The "phone" button quit working on my 2013 F150. Can't sync with my cell phone. Any suggestions?

This may be a problem with the ribbon contact under the steering wheel know as the "clockspring drum" It can also be the switch. Before doing any work make darn sure you disarm the Airbag system, it can go off and badly injure you.

Hi Peter,
Can you confirm which radio you have and also type of phone, Iphone, android or windows -etc.

Do you want to play music through the radio or is it just the phone connection?

Sounds like you may need to look at the bluetooth frequency's used ie 4.02 and 4.04 - if you can go into sub-menus on bluetooth settings there is an option usually to 'use another voice connection' or something similar - it sounds like one or the other unit is using 4.04 and the other 4.02 - so they connect but the audio element isnt syncing together - Check 'about' bluetooth on your phone - it may tell you if it uses 4.02 band or 4.04 - I would suggest if you knock all settings to the older 4.02 , then things should sync up fully - its the older technology standard, - hope this helps.

I need to connect a new phone to my lexus 460ls bluetooth system

Go into the information /Nav Screen and you will find an icon for phone, then settings. Click on the icon and it it will give you a connect new phone option, click on that icon and it will release a 4 digit entry code and be findable by your phone.
Next go to your phones tools or connections settings and look for Bluetooth, enbale Bluetooth, Search Bluetooth Devices/handsfree Your phone will search out the car, once found it will request the 4 digit pin code to be input and ask you to confirm "handfsree" Once confirmed the car will read out connecting...then bluetooth connection successful and the dial pad will appear on the NAV screen
If you have more than one phone connected to the car the driver will need to select the connect phone button in order to chose the phone he wishes to enable

Turn on your NAV screen and go into the info main menu in the Nav system. If no NAV refer to the drivers handbook, since you will sinc by using the voice command buttons on the steering wheel and the car will offer you prompts.
Click on telephone, settings, Bluetooth, ADD PHONE.
