My 5 and 6 cylender are not firing on my 1997 f150

There can be several reasons. A lot of times people look at the spark side of the problem and forget that fuel injectors also must work. The firing signal comes from the crankshaft sensor, then both the spark and fuel get a signal to fire.

When 2 adjacent cylinders miss, it can be a head gasket or the coil pack. I see that this problem is 7 months old so you have probably fixed it.

How to check the timing

If when you try to start the engine, it pops through the intake, it's not the timing, It's the firing order that's off. You should be able to google 1997 F150 firing order and find what you need.

4x4 6 cylinders manual trans.1995 ford f150 when down shifting and changing gears to slow down a very loud grinding sound but if i pump the cluth and rev up the rpm's sometimes it goes into gear.....

check and make sure your slave cylender is full of fluid, it should be mounted on the firewall, also sounds like you need to bleed the slave cylender.

Low break pedal even after adjusting rear brakes and bleading all 4 wheels

I have a 1997 f150 i bought and the firing order is not right i have never seen the wires come straight off the coil pack to the plugs 4.2l
