Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Transmission control module

My 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee had a code p0700 for months and it started shifting normal and the check engine light went out so I figure it was water intrusion and corrosion that finally dried out So my question is where is it located so I can protect it or seal it from the elements. Thanks

I took my 2005 jeep cherokee to auto zone for possible codes. these are the codes i got: p0700, p0730, u1411. also at times all the dashboard lights will flash off and on. the car does not quit but it...

The 700 and 730 codes are about problems with the transmission.
Code 700 is a general notice there is a problem with the transmission control module, and 730 is saying the transmission seems to be shifting into the wrong gear. That problem could be a faulty solenoid or dirty fluid.
I don't have anything on the 1411 code.

I DID NOT SEE CODE UO103 BUT CODE PO700 IS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION.WHAT CODE IS TELLING YOU THAT YOU HAVE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE.THATS A GARAGE FIX BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REPROGRAM IT BEFORE YOUR JEEP WILL SHIFT RIGHT.

P0700 is a code that tells u the TCM [transmission Control Module] has requested that the PCM [Powertrain Control Module] turn on the check engine light, u now need to ge the TCM tested for the transmission fault code(s) that were stored when the check engine light was turned on by the TCM through and by the PCM

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited P0700 diagnostic problem

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.
