I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7 engine. giving a code of P1299, say high air flow. which sensor is this?

The computer logs this code when the mass airflow sensor indicates more airflow than expected. Is the engine idling high? It could be that the idle air control valve is jammed open. Or, there could be another excessive air flow path downstream of the airflow sensor. Check all hoses connected to the inlet duct between the airflow sensor and the throttle body. Are any of them connected to the intake manifold?

Is an idle air control valve the same thing as a mass airflow sensor in a 2001 Chevy Cavalier 2.2?

no.. maf senses incoming airflow to your intake and the iac controls idle speed

try cleaning the mass airflow sensor, and change the PCV valve. I would replace the PCV valve first cause that could cause it and its a cheap and easy fix, could be stuck and gunked up or clogged and barely any air is moving into the intake, if you clean the mass airflow sensor be careful not to touch the element and not to drop it handle with care it's expensive and is a fragile part, and use mass airflow spray cleaner only. Try that see if it fix's the problem if not I would check your vacuum lines particularity the ones going in and out of the intake from the pcv valve and the one going from the airbox to the engine, then check if any of the other small lines from your EGR are all connected and not cracked broke or damaged

94 trooper startsbut stalls immediatly-changed throttle position sensor, map sensor, and idle air control valve but problem continues

I can't remember exactly, but if there is an airflow meter, check the air intake hose for cracks or looseness. If there is any openings between the throttle body and the airflow meter, the computer will not see the air entering the engine so it will stall right after it starts.

Insuficient airflow trigers engine light after changing EGR Valve and Valve pressure sensors.

You need what is called A DPFE sensor for Code P0401. It is a small sensor that has to rubber hoses attached to it goin to exaust pipe. Basic part# 9J460.

Bmw e46 year 2ooo i drive it down the road and it jerks every so slightly then just cuts out i dont think its power current but thought maybe fuel filter so changed that to no avail the problem still...

I would remove the air filter and mass airflow sensor and the air tube up to the throttle and the rubber boot that attaches to the throttle body. Check the tubing for cracks that may be letting in excess air that is not being measured. It might be helpful to clean the throttle valve and the mass airflow sensor with mass airflow sensor spray.
Other problems that can cause the symptom you describe are degradation of the crank position sensor or possibly the cam position sensor (cam position sensor error will be most noticeable at idle). If those are causing the problem, as it gets worse it will eventually set a code and light the check engine light.

Idles high and low

Although it could be any number of things you may want to start with the air filter, a dirty air filter restricts the airflow to the engine and can cause exactly what you have described.

3 other suspects could be, Idle air control valve, mass airflow sensor, or throttle position sensor.

2001 Mazda Tribute intermittently stalls at idle. Already replaced the idle control module. Checked the fuel pump and filter. What is it?

Check your EGR valve, check your PCV valve, check your mass airflow sensor and throttle body sensor.
