SOURCE: 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, the AC vents change

Check for a colasped vacuum line or boken one, under hood,Also there may be a vacuum reservoir with a vacuum line going to this reservoir and one coming out going to the inside of the cab.Check all these vacuums. If you can`t find a problem with a vacuum line, replace them anyway, because you most likely have one with a hole in it you can not see.If there is no reservoir, then look for a vacuum check valve near the firewall, passengers side under windsheild. The check valve could be busted,or cracked. If I can help any let me know....roniecon@gmail.com

SOURCE: AC blows out of the

SOUNDS LIKE A VACUUM PROBLEM ...CHECK THEVACUUM RESERVOIRS FOR LEAKS ,,CRACKS ETC ,, USE A HAND OPERATED VACUUM PUMP AND PLUG THE OTHER PORTSTO SEE IF IT HOLDS VACUUM. ALSO CHECK THE PLASTIC VACUUM LINE THAT SUPPLIES THE A/C CONTROLL SWITCH . THERE SHOULD BE A CLEAR 2 HOSE CONNECTOR BELOW THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT I THINK THERE ARE 2 HOSES THAT ARE USED ,BLACK , GRAY , USE A SMALL VACUUM T AND INSTALL IN THE VACUUM SUPPLY LINE ( I THINK IT'S THE BLACK LINE ) TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND SEE IF THE VACUUM GUAGE ON THE PUMP FALLS DURING ACCELL IF IT DOES TURN OFF THE A/C AND RETEST IF IT FALLS . AGAIN CHECK ENGINE VACUUM AT INTAKE MANIFOLD SUPPLY PORT TO VACUUM CANISTER ,, I HAVE SEEN ANYTHING FROM CRACKED VACUUM LINES ,CHECK VALVES, TO CAT CONVERTORS CAUSE THIS

HOPE THIS GETS YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Selector for air mode stuck on defrost

This is caused by a low engine vacuum, the engine vacuum is low when you accelerate, the HVAC system loses vacuum to the mode control vacuum switch and defaults to the defrost ducts for safety. You likely have a leaking mode control vacuum switch in the control panel of the heater AC system (HVAC).

MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V-6 THE AC ONLY BLOWS THRU THE DEFROST VENTS ?

  • Do you hear any clicking noise form in the dash ? Sounds like the mode door actuator mite be bad or stuck or the HVAC control module isn't controlling it. The ford service repair information manual has a long drawn out test procedure PINPOINT TEST B: INCORRECT/ERRATIC DIRECTION OF AIRFLOW FROM OUTLET(S) You would have to take some of your dash apart to get at the wiring connectors on the back of the HVAC control module . You need a volt- ohm -meter to do some testing : first thing is to

1986 Nissian 300zx automatic. Is there a way to prevent the AC switching off as you accelerate. My car changes from AC dash vents to defrost mode with the slightest step on the gas. Thanks

Sounds like a vacuum leak. If you or someone you know knows about vehicles you can deduce the problem, otherwise you may want to go to a mechanic who understands vacuum leaks.

When i turn on the windsheald defroster i hear a rattle in the engine

The ac compressor runs in defrost mode.
So the noise could be a belt tensioner or something involving the ac compressor pulley.

It sounds like a vacuum hose has come off or broke. Try checking the hoses towards the fire wall under the hood.

03 f150 heat only comes out defrost

You have a vacuum leak. Defrost is the default postion (no vacuum). Since it is working correctly in the ac postion I would suspect the problem is at the floor/panel door. This one is located on the drivers side of the heater box just to the right of the accelerator pedal.
