Question about 2006 Ford Escape

Open Question

Broken mounting clip on side of factory 2006 Ford Escape radio.

In attempting to remove radio with removal tool, technician bent and then broke 1 side mounting clip on 2006 Audiophile 6 radio. Can clip be replaced? Seems to be attached with a rivet.

If not, I would replace the radio. Part number is 6L8T-18C815-FC. Found a 6L8T-18C815-FD online (last character is "D" not "C"). Will this radio work? All photos, including rear plugs and pin counts are the same.

How do i remove a factory radio from a 1994 ford 150

I have used strong paper clips and have also used coat hangers for the removal tool.
If you look at the radio you will notice four pinholes at the edges/corners of the radio. These are the holes the tool I am about to describe will go in. One tool for the left side of the radio and one tool for the right.
Cut the coat hanger to about 5-6 inches in length. Bend the cut piece to a "U" shape. Repeat the process for the 2nd tool.
Stick each tool into the pinholes on either side. You will notice that at first there will be a little resistance then it will slide further in easily...this means you have it in right. Do not push it in as far as it will go.
Now that you have both tools set, gently pry outwards towards the side the tool is inserted in...both at same time. Example: The left tool, you want to pry it to the left and the right will be pushed to the right.
As you are pushing them, gently rock the radio side to side. Once it comes about a 1/4-1/2 inch out, you have gotten past the retainer clips and the radio can be pulled out by hand.
To install the radio, just push it into the dash, no tools needed. When it is fully seated, you will hear the retaining clips lock into place.

2002 ford explorer radio removal and installation procedure

You have to have special ford radio tools. they look like two horse shoes. they clip into the two holes on either side of the radio and then you push outwards and pull on the clips at the same time and the radio slides right out. the tools are usually inexpensive and can probably be found at local auto parts store

Radio reciever ....cant get it out

First remove the selector trim panel for the Auto tranny or gear shift and boot trim panel for a manual tranny. remove the cigarette lighter assembly and disconnect the connector. remove the 2 radio mounting screws. You need the insert two radio removal tools T87p-19061 or equivalent into the face plate holes until you feel the tension of the holding clips. If this is the first tome removing the radio, the flashing of the bezel facing has to be broke. This may require extra force. flex outward on both sides of the radio simutaneously and pull the radio out using the tools as handles. Then dissconnect the electrical connectors. Hope this helps.
