If you have a single wiper assembly the part you realy want to lube is the shaft that the wiper arm is connected to, you will see a plastic cover at the base of the wiper arm , pull it off from the top of it ,it is a hinged cover , use a synthetic base lubricant. Good luck hope this helps

According to AllData, you don't have to remove the motor to install a new switch. Subsequently, AllData doesn't give direction on wiper arm or motor removal. Here are the only diagrams they give for switch replacement.

SOURCE: Refitting windscreen wiper linkage

Good evening Kah2110,

I assume you have replaced the linkage by now and all is fine?

I have freed a sticking spindle (driver side) but now find I can't seem to get the wipers arms positioned properly - did you find that there is a sequence/procedure to follow?

Many thanks

SOURCE: How do you remove the windshield wiper arms

The wiper arms have a push in tab at the very bottom at the fitting that is pressed into the wiper linkage below the screen. Use a flat headed screwdriver to pry out the tab. Once out the arm can be pulled right off. Now you can remove the cowling screen

Hi my 1988 nissan patrol window wipers dont go in the high position, what would be the problem?

Hi,
The problem will be the wiper linkage, either the linkage connector are all broken and the motor needs adjustment! The connector are made of plastic and at the age of that patrol it might have been broken and needs a grease! U could access the linkage by removing the wiper motor and unscrew the wiper and wiper base! The easiest part is pulling it out... the hardest will be putting back! Don't worry, it takes time and patience and u could get it back again!

How to change front wiper motor on 1993 ford explorer

Hi there,
  • Turn the ignition on, and turn the front windshield wipers on. When the wipers are facing straight up on the window, turn the ignition off so they remain in that position.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable with an adjustable wrench. Remove the passenger side wiper blade assembly, by removing the pivot nut at the bottom with an adjustable wrench. Remove the wiper linkage access cover, and use a screwdriver to remove the wiper motor clip. Remove the wiper linkage from the wiper motor.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector on the wiper motor. Remove the bolts and nuts, securing the wiper motor with a socket wrench. Remove the wiper motor from the vehicle. Install the new wiper motor, and tighten mounting bolts and nuts with a socket wrench. Connect the electrical harness to the new wiper motor. Connect the wiper linkage, and insert the linkage clip. Install the wiper blade assembly, and tighten the nut with an adjustable wrench.
  • Connect the negative battery cable securely, using an adjustable wrench.
Hope this helps...

My 1991 nissan pathfinder's wiper motor repair

The cowl panel has to be removed. You will find plastic clips and possibly a few screws holding the panel on. Once you remove the panel you will see the wiper linkage and motor.

I HAVE A CHEVY UPLANDER AND THE REAR WIPER WILL NOT WORK IT DOESNT EVEN MOVE

The rear wiper on the uplander is a common BOSCH unit and is very prone to one very small but very easy ( and CHEAP to fix ) problem. The shaft that goes through the glass on the rear hatch needs to have new grease.Thats it......If you think you need a new wiper motor try this.......take off your old wiper motor and remove the star drive screws that hold this thing together. Now pull this thing appart. Dont be afaid to do this remember you think that you are going to buy a new one anyway right. Inside you will see the electric motor with a worm gear thar turns a big yellow(or white) plastic wheel.sitting on top of that is a funky metal linkage that is connected to the BOTTOM of the shaft. On the TOP end of the shaft you will need to remove the small plastic ring and under that the small rubber o-ring. Now you need to pull the shaft and the linkage out of the unit. They should just pull out with no effort BUT you will find that they are stuck because all the grease has gone hard around the shaft stopping it from moving.Use a little penitrating oil around the shaft and work at it and it will come out. Now use a little break cleaner to clean the shaft and linkage ,apply new grease and put the thing back together again. PROBLEM SOLVED......try it .....trust me you dont need a new motor :-) If you really want to be lazy you dont even have to take the car apart just unbolt the rear wiper arm and remove thearm fron the car then clean the end of the shaft andunder all that dirt you will see the small plastic ring and under that the small o-ring .....remove both of these.now spray some penitrating oil down the shaft.give it a little timeand spray some more.try the rear wiper,if your lucky it will start to turn.put it all back together again.
