Question about Fiat Strada

Open Question

What must I do when an injector light is on on the dash on a Strada1.2?

It seems like it is injector no 4 that is a problem. Is there a fuse I should look at and how do I get rid of the dash light?

Having trouble with fuel delivery and dash lights on my 1989 Jeep Cherokee. Dash lights won't go on and the instrument fuse has been changed. Is there a main fuse to the fuse box itself? The c

There may be a fusible link (a section about 4 to 6 inches long of smaller gauge wire soldered into the battery cable to the fuse box) but it sounds like its more likely a ground issue or a bad dimmer switch/knob with the dash lights. The fuel system is a separate issue is the fuel pump relay good? If so do you have power and ground at the pump? Are your fuel lines clogged rusted or collapsed? Do you have 12v at the injectors and is the ecu/pcm switching the ground on and off? As you can see there is a lot of questions to be answered and if your not confident in you ability to find and fix the issue or dont have the tools or understanding of how these systems function I suggest seeking help from a good repair shop, as you will undoubtedly cause more damage than you fix and cost yourself a whole lot more cash .

What runs the daytime lights, dash warning lights, and fuel pump. these seem to be the factors of why my truck only cranks but doesnt start.

Check all fuses and relay fuses. Then "crack" the fuel line to the injectors and crank to see if fuel is present. If fuel pressure is present, check for spark (Ensure no spilt fuel is around) by cranking with plug lead shorted off the spark plug.

What could be the causes of injectors not opening and spark plugs not firing

A long list of things. From fuses to ignition switch to ecu to security alarm and more.

Here is how to start looking: Turn the key to on. Do the dash gauges and warning lights and check engine light come on? Then power is getting to the switch and being sent out from it. Next, use a test light and check for power TO the coils and TO the injectors with key on. All four injectors use the same color power wire. My wiring diagram is poor quality, but it looks like a green wire or possibly a gray wire-remember same color power wire to all injectors-the other injector wire is a ground wire, and they are all different colors. Pull one injector connector off and check for power on one terminal with key on. And could do the same at the coil pack. With key on, the white wire with red stripe to the coils should have power-actually, the white wire is spliced and two white wires are shown going to coil pack-this is the primary current to the coils- is hot in run or start.

If no power to coil or injectors, here are the fuses to check: in the under hood fuse/relay block: ecu-10 amp fuse, Eng-15 amp fuse, and these maxi fuses: fuel inj-30 amp fuse, Main- 80 amp fuse, Ign-40 amp fuse. And one more- a designated Main fuse-15 amp fuse.
If these fuses are good, should have power going to injectors and the coil pack with key on. If the key is turning on the dash, some of those fuses are known good, but need to check all of those listed.

I will stop here, and wait for your reply. You get this far, you are on the way to diagnosing the problem.

No 4 wheel drive, no dash lights, no tail lights!

check your relays first (after the fuses) and the vacuum lines if you have those for the 4 wheel drive. Hope that helps

Dash lights and taillights out fuses all ok

In battery junction box or the under hood fuse panel check fuse no 11(15amp),it will be at the center of the fuse box where there is 4 fuse slots but looks like only 3 fuses, if this fuse in good then you will see a relay that is shaped kinda like a cross.This is the parklamp relay which also powers the dash lights.

Fuel Injector Wont Spray

check wires at throttle body. can use a 12 volt test light to check for current. if you have spark it is not the ign module. set meter for 12-20volts. should have 2 fuse boxes on this model, one behind right side of dash at floorboard

Dash lights

you can test all the fuses very easily.

if you have a test light, you could easily find a faulty fuse. it is like a pointed screwdriver with a 12 volts bulb in it. the end of the wire has a clip that you can clip to the ground or a known negative. then one by one touch the pointed tip to the fuse that you are testing.

if the fuse you are testing is the spade type;

the fuse has two bare metal points which you can test. if it would light to one end, the other point should light too. of the same brightness of course. if it does not light up , then the fuse is bad. if it is not as bright as the first point, it could be bad or not bad. you have to remove it and look closely to it.

if the fuse is glass type ;

test the metal part on each end of the glass fuse. same procedure with testing the spade fuse.

tnx 4 using fixya,

if you found the fuse and it is blowing every time you turn on the dash lights, then there is a shorted bulb some where in the dash or in the park lights. the park lights is also connected to the dash lights.
