Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

I have an old petersime model #1 incubator. I would say it holds 300-400 eggs. We replaced the thermostat after our first attempt at a hatch " cooked" the eggs. It seems as though this may not have been the problem, as the next batch also literally cooked. We put a 99.75 degree thermo in it. We need a manual!. Can you help?

Try washing the radiator look to see if it's filled with bugs, if it is back wash it out at a car wash, if that is not the problem look at the radiator cap and see if the rubber is cracked, if it is replace it, without a good cap antifreeze will boil at 212 degrees if that does not fix it take it to a radiator shop and have them pressure test the system, this will show any hair pin leaks that you would not otherwise see. Here are other things that could cause it, running to lean plugged catalytic converter or exhaust pipe, blown head gasket. Fan clutch bad.

Do akes lay eggs or do they birth

Depends on the snake.

Not all snakes lay eggs--70% of them do, while the rest give live birth. Snakes that give birth to their young without laying eggs are called viviparous. These snakes live in colder climates, where eggs would not incubate as well. Snakes that lay eggs fall into two categories, oviparous and ovoviviparous. The eggs have a hard shell that protects them, and they are usually placed under leaf litter or loose soil, or within a hollow stump or burrow.

2005 ford freestyle hatch will not stay up can it be the hatch struts? If so can I replace them myself?

YES, most likely the struts on the rear hatch door have become weak. YES, you can replace them rather easily. you will need a flat tip srewdriver to pry the old one off and someone or something to hold the door up while snapping the new on into place on each side.

I need to replace plastic on the tail light of a 1990 pulsar hatch and cant see how to get the old one out, there seems to only be one screw holding it?

The fasteners may be behind the interior panel of the hatch. Take the one screw out, and if that doesn't release the light, then look for the interior fasteners.

How do you replace a trunk strut?

If you are talking about the gas-charged units which hold the rear hatch up there is a clip which snaps off each end. With the clip off you pull the socket end off and then the hatch falls on your head. Get some new units on ebay, about 50 bucks a pair. When you have the new ones in your hand you will see the socket and clip. After you take the old ones off put some grease on the ball befoire you snap the new ones on. Make sure you have someone or something there to hold the hatch up while you do this.

Trunk door will not stay open by itself

Your gas struts that hold up your hatch have weakened or failed. Good news is they are easy to change and not too expensive. Usually about $20 each, but replace them both...You will need help to hold the hatch while you pop out the old ones.

Replacement hatch strut problem

It is better to have someone help you hold up the hatch (very heavy). Remove the old struts, then install the bottom of the strut first. While moving the hatch up or down align the pin and snap in place.
