Have you checked to see if a pulley or ac compressor is locked up or if the engine is locked . First take belt off and try to start if it starts something is locked up on front of engine . If no progress try turning engine with a socket if it turns easy there's most likely a ground or wiring problem

SOURCE: Sometimes alternater does not charge battery

Drive the car to the auto parts store and have them test the battery and alternator for proper charge.  You probably just bought a dud, even though they are new.  Doesn't happen much but does happen.

SOURCE: my 2004 v6 ford explorer won't start new batery

Here is the deal.. you disconnected the battery and the factory alarm module / keyless door entry is perventing engine start.
Open the drivers door with your key and then press and hold the alarm valet switch under the left side of the dash near the left side wall of the drivers' compartment and then turn on the ignition key.
Then start your vehicle.

If you still have the origanl vehicle manuals for the auto / radio / alarm and keyless entry follow the PROGRAMMING instructions in the alarm / keyless entry manual to start your vehicle.

Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: i have a 2000 mazda protege just replaced starter

check the ignition coil, if the coil fails car will not start!! it provides the maximum voltage for the ignition system. but be sure starter solenoid is ok. have a great day!! if this is a 1.8 then get in touch with dealership it may be on the recall list. give vin number! (the 1.6 and 2.0 this recall has no effect on you). the recall is for 99 thru 2000.

2004 escalade wont start

I had the same issue lately with a different car. I took the car to Autozone and they did a quick test of my battery. It turned out that the battery was pretty well shot, but it would work if someone jumped the car off.

You may try getting the battery tested to make sure you don't need to replace it.

Hope that helps!

do you have an anti theft system on the car? if so, try disconnecting the battery terminals. [put the key into the ignition on run/on position, then reconnect the terminals and try to start.

The truck wont start in the park or neutral position. If I jump the starter all is fine. When turning the key i dont even get a clicking sound. Is it the solenoid or a worn out switch. Every once in a...

This could also be the anti theft security system (passlock) shutting down the starter. This is a common GM problem that effected Escalades from 1999 to 2007. When the anti theft starts to fail, it gets confused and locks YOU out instead of just theives. The fact that you can start it at the starter helps prove this "theory". Another indicator would be if you saw a light on the dash that says SECURITY or a picture of a little car with a padlock thru it. This site explains the whole security thing and offers DO IT YOURSELF ways to fix it.

Yes - your problem is in your starter - specifically the armature and / or brushes. The starter is located on the passenger side of the vehicle, mounted to the front of the transmission and back of the motor. The starter's armature kicks out and connects with the Ring gear ( automatic trans) or flywheel ( manual trans) and turns the flywheel ? gear to engage the engine. The clicking indicates the solenoid is completing the circuit but the armature is not engaging the gear. The positive battery cable goes directly to the solenoid which is mounted to the starter and the positive cable MUST be removed prior to removing the starter. The armature and related brushes can be replaced instead of buying a new or rebuilt starter / solenoid assembly but should be done by a qualified professional as it can be done wrong and cause serious damage to the ring gear or flywheel.
Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

Battery light came on had problems starting now wont start at all but radio and all the lights work is it the battery or something else

more than likely it sounds like your starter is either messed up or your relay to the starter has went out i would start by checking your relays and fuses thats the cheapest way then if that doesn't do the job then you might have to pull the starter and have it checked.

Will not start its clicking but cant tell if its from starter or starter relay

You are hearing the starter solenoid, even a high current relay makes little to no noise when it switches, this is probably being bad connections on a battery cable,or battery cable that has gone bad.

Aztek will not start.

First check if battery if it is charge and try again ,or use one that have full charge.
If works you alternater is not charging,
Can also check alternater by pulling ground cable off wile car is running and if stops running change you alternater.
