SOURCE: LEFT TURN SIGNAL LTS STAYING ON AS WELL AS IND.

Yep, happened to me as well. Same side and everything. Turns out they have to replace a component on the BCM by replacing the BCM itself. Runs about $1000 - $1200 at the dealer. Tough luck but there is a chance it is still covered under your warranty.

SOURCE: Driver side signals only work when headlights are OFF

What may have happened is either the headlights wiring or the parking lights wiring somewhere along the wiring fused to the left turn signals wiring. Depending on if the turn signals go on when you put the parking lights on or the headlights on.

If the signals come on when you turn on the headlights than you only need to locate the light green wire that comes off the left turn signal harness.

Next follow that wire the entire way back to the firewall looking for another wire fused to that wire as you go.

If there are no signs of this you need to continue looking on the other side of the firewall all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit which is a black box that connects to a black harness located next to a grey harness behind the knee bolster.

But if the signals come on when you turn on the parking lights than you will also need to check the wiring from the rear left signal and follow that light green wire all the way back to the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

This should fix your problem, but if not than your problem may lay within the the wiring between the turn signal/hazard switches and the turn signal and hazard flasher unit.

Also you may have a burnt circuit in the junction block. This block is where the light green from the rear left signal and front left signal meet. Don't have a description but if you cannot find it let me know and I will go out to the yard and look myself and let you know.

SOURCE: Right Turn Signal acts like the Emergency Flasher.

If you have an aftermarket trailer plug on your truck, you are going to want to inspect the wiring to the plug, and the connections in the plug. I think it's shorting out.

Why does my right turning signals blink but my left do not

If your turn signal indicator on your dash (when you choose "left turn" on the turn signal stalk) is just staying on and not blinking, chances are, you have a burned out front or rear left turn signal bulb. Replacement of this should be simple. Also, check to make sure the bulb sockets aren't corroded. This can also cause the same problem.

I hope this helps! :)

Is there a knock sensor in 1989 caprice classic. If so where is it located. This car has Throttle Body Injection.

The knock sensor screws into the passenger side cylinder head and is also wired into a seperate module on the passenger side fender.

My left signal stayes on . also weather or not

Wrong fuse then!(you probably need a higher amp fuse) And for your signal light...it means that you have one of your flasher lights blown! (outside indicators!)

Coolant

I have seen where the low coolant indicator stays on after performing some repairs and on the white plastic overflow jug there is a sensor with a yellow and a black wire attached to it give it a firm tap or two, and the little float in the sensor wii become unstuck and will work properly once again,.. hope this helps Oh by the way the low coolant indicator on the caprice looks like a square with an arrow pointing down inside of it..good luck

Check all the parking light bulbs and sockets - this is usually a sign that a bulb is out or you have a bad socket

Electrical problem

Find the ground wire on one of the lights and add another ground wire to a good clean metal surface and see if that fixes the problem. It defently sounds like a ground problem at one of the lights.
