Re: change dashboard light bulb in 2002 Honda Accord EX...
You will need fill up screw driver and a flat head remove the 2 screws that hole the BLKpanel . then you use your flat head gently push up and out on the lower left and rightcoroners . be very carefull make sure you got time no rush. NOTE : make sure you go pick up the LIGHTS I USED sylvania lights part #74 LL YOU WILL NEED 14 OF THEM COST 4.99 FOR A SET OF 2 AND IF YOU HAVE AUTOMATIC CAR YOU WILL NEED CALL A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE THE ONES THAT LIGHT UP WHEN YOU CHANGE GEARS.
after you got the BLKpanel off you will see 2 gold screw do not take them off.
remove 4 BLK screw , two of them will be next to the gold screw . the other will be right on the top
after you got the screws off
stat pulling out the dashboard out slowly ..
after you see that the dashboard dosen't want to come out you should be able to see these 3 green wire connection one on the left , right and one in the middle
I use a long flat screw driver to push the small clip in the middle then at the same time push up.
one you took off all 3 you can pull it out .(CAREFULLY)
TWIST OFF THE SMALL BLK ONES OFF VERY EASY YOU CAN BUY AT ANY AUTO STORE . BUT FOR THE ONE THAT LIGHT UP WHEN YOU CHANGE GEARS IF YOU AUTOMATIC YOU WILL HAVE TO GET THEM FORM THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR THE WHT ONES I STILL don't know how to take them off . am going to see if honda can give me a hand .
just to let you now am also changing the clock light and the Cruise control/TCS button light also
O I for got change all the lights in the dashboard cause it is a b***h to take it off.

Only if the warning light showed on the dash...most often these abs sensors get clogged with brake dust or dislodged during wheel swaps if the pads are fine and fluid level correct...first check the brake pads then the disks and clean the sensors with an old toothbrush and reseat, also check the fluid level on the abs system.this should clear warning light.but any error codes stored on ecu need to be cleared using obd.
clock slides out by carefully prying with a fine screw driver. Take
care not to scratch the dashboard fascia. It has a mini light bulb in
the back, which can be taken out by rotating it with a small scredriver. it looks like a small plastic disc with ridges on it. Take it to the dealer / parts shop so they can see the proper
color. Accord dashboards came with 3 different color plastic covers on
the bulbs, in order to match the rest of the dashboard and radio. No need to disconnect the 2 electrical plugs that attach to the clock.
check the fuse for the power outlet in the interior fuse boxes on the sides of ur dashboard... between the door and ur dash, there are 2 fuse boxes on both pass and drivers side..remove the pop out panels... they are just held in by clips..
Just replaced bulb on my 2002 Accord EX. Simple to do.
1. Lift up the trim piece around clock; just slide a putty knife under and lift.
2. Take out assembly and look on underside for small gray bulb base ( about 3/16 dia.). It helps if you have the new one to compare.
3. Use small blade screwdriver in slot and rotate counterclockwise to remove. You may have to shake it to get out.
4. Examine the new bulb to find the slots that DO NOT have wires. Put bulb into socket and rotate clockwise with screwdriver in proper slot.
That's it; you now are there.
