Question about 1996 Honda Accord
Last night dome lights stopped working and then this morning the battery was dead.
Hooking up the jump start, it increased the voltage enough to rattle a relay but not enough to pull them in. Try measuring the battery voltage.
Or if you want to kill some time.
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.

plz check the following and update me
1. Fuel (To be exact proper air/fuel ratio, normally it is about 14/1)
2. Spark (in appropriate moment)
3. Proper timing (the valves should open and close only in appropriate time)
4. Compression in the cylinders (Normal compression is 120 - 170 psi. The engine won't start if the compression is lower than 70 - 80 psi.)

Try cleaning the battery connectors at both ends and make sure the ground at the frame is clear of rust. If that check out, drop the starter and have it bench tested

Try smacking the starter with a blunt object ( hammer or something ) Smack it several times while cranking. It may free up. Listen for the click at the starter. Its prabably a bad starter. Common symptom your describing. If it does start replace the starter.

this sounds like the radio fuse, also check the lighter and assy, fuse. if you do not know where fuse box is and location of fuse. go to any auto parts store and they will tell you where it is.

SOURCE: 2000 honda accord 4cyl, last night with can running noticed the radio quicky flash when turning on headlights. When applying brakes, headlights would flicker 1 time very quickly. today went to start
This would tell me there is a short in the wiring harness. If it was a relay it would affect only the electronics on that relay.
