Question about 2004 Honda Element
I changed the ignition switch and now the antitheft has it locked down where I can not start the car. How can I reset it
Answered this already, check with the dealer, factory antitheft can't be dealt with in the backyard.

I don't Believe that remote start can only be re-programed by the dealer as it is anti theft prevention device get a 2nd opinion or call the dealership ..unless something has become truly wrong with your ignition system but a remote device works without a key ...you could try to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery itself to see if it will reset itself foe a few minutes then reattach and secure it but ,,,remote works without the key yntil you wish to drive it at which point you need to insert the key to forwards position to drive it

SOURCE: 1998 honda accord won't start
He may have locked up the pin sequence. You might need to buy a new switch not that exspensive. Stay away from the dealership or it will be.

SOURCE: honda accord key broblem
All you need to do is push the Shifter in harder into park and the key will come right out.. I had this problem once too.. The car just doesn't know it's in park because you didn't push it in far enough.

SOURCE: Key will not turn in ignition
in newer cars like that... if you stick another key from a different car in the ignition, it often times throws off the computer and it will have to be taken to a honda dealer ship

Your ignition lock cylinder probably fell apart. They get worn out and the tumblers inside fall out and leave the cylinder inoperable. Get your lock cylinder replaced and you'll be good as new.
