HIGH PRESSURE SIDE IS REFRIGERANT LINE WITH RED CAP GOING INTO CONDENSOR AND EXPANSION VALVE OR ORIFICE TUBE.LOW PRESSURE LINE HAS A BLUE CAP ON IT.FOLLOW EVAPORATOR LINE CLOSE TO ACCUMULATOR.

either on the low side hose normally it is on the accumulator bottle which also has the clutch cycling switch for the a/c compressor

The high and low ports are two different sizes.
If you're using the cans you get at the auto parts store, they only fit the low pressure side.
When it was in the red, was the engine and air conditioning running at the time?
