To activate the relay the signal wire would have tcome from the switch. If it has a seperate ac switch checkthe fuses first. If it if blown replace with like fuse. If it blows you have a direct short. If fuses are good and no signal check wiring from switch to relay.

If your not getting power to your relay the problem lies either in the button to activate the AC if applicable ..... But I would first check the wiring from the AC panel to the relay ... A simple continuity test will tell you if wiring is good..... Good Luck!!!

02 3.3 xterra ac clutch relay no signal to relay

Voltage to the clutch relay is sourced from the PRESSURE SWITCH (SENSOR) at the receiver/dryer. If there is insufficient refrigerant pressure, or if the pressure switch is bad, the clutch relay will not get control voltage from it. Check your refrigerant pressure, and check to see if there is voltage on both sides of the switch when the a/c is turned on (engine running). If your low-side refrigerant pressure is greater than the preset minimum (usually about 20-30 p.s.i.), and you have voltage at one side of the pressure switch but not the other, replace the pressure switch. If you do not have voltage at either side of the pressure switch, the problem will be between that connector and the fuse panel (including the electronic controls in the dashboard).

I have a 02 lincoln ls. the problem is i cant get air conditioning to work. I have took it to a local shop they check all pressure swithes, compressor is fully charged, relays and fuses are good, they...

Your AC mechanic is a know nada POS. Your AC is not working because the clutch is not being properly energized so as to turn the compressor which as you indicated is working and fully charged. Either the climate control head you just got is no good, ditto for the low pressure cut off switch, thermostat.. Best thing to do is get a hold of someone who has the AC schematic and can check out all of the electrical components in the way of getting power to the clutch!

I drive a 2001 Nissan Xterra. Noticed that the middle part of the compressor is not turning to work the A/C Meaning no cool do I get the compressor going again?

check the fuses and relay to ac compressor. if relay is bad the ac clutch will not engage. if its getting power and still will not work, it may be the clutch mecanisim is bad.

AC blowinghot air

Locate wires coming from compressor clutch and trace to nearest plug that you can unplug. Turn on A/C to max cooling. If clutch not engaged (center of compressor drive pulley not spinning with pulley), unplug compressor clutch wires and use multimeter to check voltage going to compressor clutch. If voltage is around 12 volts or more, then clutch should be engaged when plugged in. Plug clutch wires back in (with motor still running and ac set to max). If clutch still not engaged, then clutch definitely bad because 12V signal should engage it.

Ac problem

if the compressor is not engaging, the clutch on the front of compressor may be faulty..remove a/c clutch relay from fuse block underhood and jump relay pins 30 and 87 with engine running..clutch should engage..make sure you have power on pin 30
you may have a faulty a/c pressure transducer

My ac on mt 2000 xterra works when it wants to but

you have a electrical problem either in the control panel or the a/c compressor clutch connector
tray by moving the plug on the side of the compressor clutch. if that engage and disengage the clutch replace the connector "pig trail".
but if that don't change wait on till the a/c is not working unplug the a/c compressor and cornet a test light on the loose cable
if you don't get any power replase your climate control module.

Cluthch for AC

power to the clutch went to a lot of parts.

you can trace the power from the fan blower switch, then to the ac switch, then to the pressure switch then to the relay.

ow i forgot, the power source fuse is the first to check also. the fan fuse is different from the compressor fuse. pls check them both.

tnx 4 using fixya,
