Question about Cars & Trucks
Fsm covers this,
so does alldata.com
why not read those.
working inside any modern car has 2 risks.
1: air bags going off killing mech (DIY) defeat them. first.
2: breaking all that plastic bs , doing simple work.
to AVOID the risks we log in and read, ,RTM
read the manual.
on some cars you pry off a part to reveal screws.
others have hidden screws,
some have radio lock keys.
Varies by model and sub models and options (like climate controls etc)
we use plastic pry bars to pry gently to see whats up.
on cars with zero docs, (rare that)

You must contact the parts department of your local Acura dealer to get this code. You will need to show them your car's registration to prove that you are the owner. You may be able to get the code with only the registration and the VIN code (found on the registration). Some manufacturers require the serial number on the radio, which would require that the radio be removed from the car to see the serial number.

You have to go to your Integra dealer to get that, due to the fact it is an anti theft code. Of ten they also need the number off the top of the radio too.
This keeps thieves from selling stolen radios...

SOURCE: Acura 1999 tl radio promblem
Try this: If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. Good Luck!
