Question about 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Why does my car not move from a stop until I rev it up and then it kicks in like being rear ended?

When at a complete stop I let off the brake and it acts like it is neuteral. I have to rev up the rpms and then it kicks in really hard like being rear ended. Only does this from a complete stop

Failed Transmission

That happens frequently, when you do not change trans
fluid every 3 years, power steering will fail next,(No Fluid Flushing)

I would have it checked for electronic issues before anything else

Since you continue to use it & it neutrals out & bangs into gear, you
ruined any chance to escape a complete rebuild, from my experience as a former trans shop owner

I have a steady whining humming sound from my rear end of my 2007 jeep commander when u start it and push on gas. what could it be?

rear end (I use and electronic stethoscope to find all that)
but rear end. is a big place..
bad U-joints top that list (repeat)
bad axle bearings.
brakes bad, there. or the warning devices there for early brake warn.
bad 3rd member, gear sets or bearings in same or pinion.

my guess is car is moving right>
if not moving ,its dying rat up in there.or loose parts.

Sounds sort of like an internal wear issue, that may never
be determined, even after a complete disassembly to
rebuild it.

I know that is a vague answer & not a solution or good
guess, but having once owned a trans repair shop, I would
have to show you units apart & you would see wear but
nothing related to your noise or operating issues, just the
way it is with an automatic trans

How do i get the rear brake pistons to go back to install new brake pads?

you will want to use a C-clamp for this. Take the c-clamp and an old brake pad, put the pad against the piston and the non-mobile end of the c-clamp on the back of the caliper. Turn the moving portion of the C-clamp in until it pushes the pad into the piston, and pushes the piston completely into the caliper. I hope this helps.

When was the last time the brake fluid was flushed? Spongy/unresponsive brakes can sometimes be due to moisture/air in the brake lines. You can take the wheel off and get someone to push the brake peddle and see if the brake caliper is moving at all. If it is moving, but not enough to stop the wheel, I'd recommend flushing the brake fluid. If the caliper is not moving at all, it could be the caliper itself (but its very unlikely that both would go bad at the same time)

1996 geo metro lsi 4 cyl. not antilock. new shoes and pads. all bled and adjusted. rear brakes will not lock up. I can turn rear wheel by hand with helper holding foot brake hand brake locks it up tight.

Know how you feel I've been there! Although your friend can't turn it dosent meen you have a good brake. so its not the reason it is jacked up that you have a brake It's stopping it but not enough when you are driving. Did you adjust them up after you changed the shoe's. If you did then they are just not bedded in.You will know this by pulling the hand brake when its moving it should slide the back wheel's. If the hand brake does'nt work properly then drive it with the handbrake pulled up until you hear the engine rev's go down. Let the handbrake off and ter the foot brake. You should have brake's. Hope this help's it works for me.
