It was actually the entire recirc door had broken off and was laying across the "intake" (dont know what you want to call it). My temporary solution is to remove the door completely which was lying loose across intake blocking all incoming air. So for now I guess I have no recirc. That's fine for now cold air is cold enough in 100+ degree Texas, it doesn't have to be recirc to be appreciated. Thanks for the clue.

Could be a bad recirc door housing, or a bad mode door actuator. There are not four vent actuators. I do see alot of recirc door housings break, and cause the problem you describe.

The part is available through the Dodge dealer. I have seen alot of them break. If you don't mind not having recirc, it will work with no problems. Glad I could help.

Does the blower motor work? If not check the blower motor--wiring circuits--fuses.

If it blows any air, defrost--floor--front of dash? Maybe a problem with actuator under the dash.

Ac will blow very cold from floor vents will not blow through dash vents

You have a mode door actuator bad or there is a problem in the control head. U can try to switch the mode door actuator with the temp door actuator to see if is just a actuator problem

1998 dodge ram 1500 5.2l, a/c air blows out floor

You most likely have a vaccum supply issue to your A/C control panel/unit. Your dodge has a vaccum actuated mode door and under low vaccum situations (hard acceleration) the mode door will revert to its at rest position (floor vents)...

Follow the small plastic vaccum line coming out of your A/C unit under your hood, it will eventually end up at a source of vaccum, either the throttle body or intake manifold. Somewhere in between you will find your leak. Good luck!!!

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy. AC blowing cold, just not out front vents

Yep, when you put the new battery in, it blew your actuators, PIA job, but can be done. You can TRY disconnecting battery again, but I'm betting your actuators just blew. Very common problem with our platform, poor design.

VENTS MAY NOT BE OPENING PROPERLY. I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND THE BLOWER WAS FINE. THE SWITCH WAS FINE IT WAS AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WITH THE VENT MECHANISM.

There is a actuator on the right side of your leg while sitting in the drivers seat under the dash. It has a plastic rod for actuation manually actuate this diverter and should be the problem.
