The brake booster is the big round thing that the the brake master cylinder attaches to (where you put fluid in), if you have power brakes.

'96 Mystique 2.0 trouble with idle. replaced idle mixing valve. I don't get any codes, I have to shift to neutral at a stop sign or light to keep from stalling. It gets real rough almost a lope.

troubles at lights may very well mean a vacuum leak from a faulty brake booster
test by stopping and then applying the park brake and taking your foot of the brake pedal
you can do this test in the garage
start the engine , apply the park brake , place in drive
if it idles alright , put you foot on the brake
if it plays up , replace the brake booster

2010 dodge ram 1500 stalls when breaking and turning

Sounds like you might have a major vacuum leak, now does you truck have a power brake booster or is it hydraulic system. If booster you have an eternal leak a bad one. Now on idle, hand brake on, if you set it in nuetral does it idle nice now when you put in gear like drive does it start missing like it wants to die if so you have a bad brake booster. Let me know what you have. Good luck.

I have a 2006 GMC Envoy, idles rough at a stop when in gear, but levels out smooth when in neutral. Drives smooth on the highway.

check for a vacuum leak in the brake booster. Check this by just allowing the engine to idle with the hand brake on and if ok then put your foot on the brake and if the idle changes then there is an air leak in the booster.

How can i stop my 1976 dodge aspen wagon from sputtering while idling

Check your power booster Vacuum line, your Timing, check if your plug wires are correctly installed, check for properly gaped plugs, Fuel Filter may be clogged if vehicle sat for an extended period of time, try using a high octane fuel the first couple of tanks.

Rough idle

Are you getting vacuum to the power brakes? You may have a vacuum leak at the power brake vacuum line connection at the intake or a defective brake booster allowing an internal vacuum leak and it's affecting your idle.Try blocking off the brake booster vacuum line as a test but don't drive anywhere unless you are ok with the increased brake pedal pressure needed without vacuum to the brake booster.

99 dodge stratus, has rough idle when brakes are applied. Car is running, if Iput in park it runs fine. Check engine light is not on.

Sounds like an issue with the brake booster - either the booster itself has a leaky seal, or maybe the brake booster line has a leak. Could also be the brake booster check valve.

Idle good when cold, hotter it gets the worst it idles especially when sitting at stop lights

simple test for a vacuum brake booster
star and run the engine at idle without applying the foot brake
if it gets worse when the foot brake is applied , it is a vacuum leak in the booster ( replace the booster )
otherwise check for failed vacuum hoses including under dash control lines , vacuum leak at the manifold or EGR unit
