Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage
My check engine light came on a while back in my 2001 Mirage. We had someone run a scan and they said it's probably a bad catalytic converter but the light goes off for a while on its own and then will come back on later. Could this be a bad O2 sensor after the converter? Could it be something else? I just want to fix the problem without having to spend a ton of money if it's not needed.
Yes, the O2 sensor would be the proper place to start. You really dont need to replace it rather than just clean it with a wire brush. It is easier to replace it though.
