It's not usually as simple as this but have you tried or realize there is an off position. Rotate the dimmer swicth down to be sure it's on.
Good luck.

Time to go to best buy or order onlinehttp://www.bestbuy.com/
Sounds as if your deck needs replaced and this could be the result of antenna not working.

1999 jeep grand cherokee tacometer reading???

Cruising rpm even after the OD has engaged has a lot to do with the differential gear ratio and tire size.
There will always be a variation between different vehichles due to that alone.
To see if the OD is working, at about 50mph, lightly touch the brake pedal. If the rpms increase for a moment then the OD was engaged. (touching the pedal momentarily disengages it...good thing to know when hill climbing!

Just bought my 94 jeep cherokee & the screen in the middle consol continues me beep and flash ''rear lamp failure''

the driver information center(DIC) is telling you one or more of your rear light bulbs has failed. it could be a tail light, stop light, center high mount stop light, turn signal or license plate light. have someone in the vehicle turn the lights on and hit the brakes and turn signals so you can see which one is burned out.
