You need to remove the entire lense assembly. open the gat and look on the side of the lense. there are 2 or 3 tabs that you pull back and there are screws. take those out and you will be able to pull the lense off and get to the bulbs

remove the grommet the wires go through, you may be able to reach the connector or remove inner trim panel.can you not use the original loom and just change the light unit?
