Question about 1992 Saturn SC
The belt, most likely is shot...just get it replaced. Your car comes equipped with a "tensioner" pulley that keeps the belt tight all the time. Unless you have mechanical experience, I really do NOT recommend trying this job at home...Just DON'T GO TO THE DEALERSHIP!

You most likely need a new serpentine belt and/or tensioner. Both are extremely easy DIY jobs with simple hand tools.
