We did a compression test and the were roughly the same compression ratio. Around 120lbs. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier. Do you still think that we need to change the head gasket?

Dude, i think you have two spark plug cables cross over. go to your local autozone and find a "firing order" if it was a blown head gasket it would show on the compression test but i'm pretty sure its a spark plug cable cross over.

Next step is a compression test. Sounds like a blown head gasket between 4 & 6 . You should remove all the spark plugs and test each cylinder @ wot (wide open throttle) and log your results. The compression should vary very little no more than 10-15% I think you will find 4 & 6 much below this. If This is the case removal of the head will be necessary to diagnose further repairs. Hope this helps, let me know! gl...dc

Did you check the other cylinders? They should be no less than 170. If just 4 & 6 are 120 its time to pull the head, but lets check all 6 first then if the rest are ok its time to pull the head and see whats wrong. Let me know..dc

'02 v70 Cylinder misfire

I'm going to assume you have the 5 cylinder non-turbo engine.
You have coil - on - plug ignition which means you have a coil for each spark plug.
The miss could be a plug or coil, the injector, or something mechanical such as a valve.

remove the plug from the #1 cylinder, and install it into the #2 cylinder , and put plug from # 2 clyinder in to #1 plug hole, connect plug wires, and start up vehichle, and if computer shows misfire on # 2 cylinder , then you have a bad plug, possibly porcelin insulator could have a hair line crack in it, hope that this information has helped you.

What is the size of the engine non turbo 4 cylinder

There's several variants of the engine.

There's a 2.2L Inline 4 which came in turbo and non-turbo
There's a 2.5L Inline 4 which came in turbo and non-turbo
There's also a 3.0L V6 as well

But since you asked for the 4 Cylinder, it will either be 2.2L or 2.5L non turbo

What is the size of a Volvo v70 engine?

There are 3 engine choices in the 98 volvo v70. All are 5 cylinders, 1. 2.3L turbo
2. 2.4L MFI DOC
3.2.4L Turbo
#2 is the most common engine for that year and model. If your engine doesn't have a turbo, that's the one u have.

I need the piston firing order for a VG30E or a VG30ode

My sincere apologies for the extremely delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.

I have only been a free contributor to this site for the past 4-months.

I do not know if you still need this information, but I am going ahead and answering it anyway.

1. Non Turbo =VG30E. Turbo = VG30ET. In any case the Engine Cylinder numbers, Firing Order, and Distributor Connections are the same.

For the 3.0L:
Firing Order:
1-2-3-4-5-6
Cylinders:
(back of engine)
5--------6
3--------4
1--------2
(front of engine)
Distributor:
....(back)
.6......5......4
.|.......|........|
V......V......V
|..................|
|..................|
^.......^.......^
.|........|........|
1.......2.......3
....(front)

2. I am not sure what what "cam adjustments" you were looking for. I am sure you probably have taken care of that or found what you were looking for. However, in most cases the person is really asking about the Timing issue.

Click on the following Link for the Timing Belt/Chain Diagrams.

Again, my sincerest apologies:

Have you checked compression on non firing cylinders? Likely has blown head gasket between these two cylinders if located side by side.
