Have a 2004 vw new beetle 1.8 liter engine with a 20-v turbo charger. driver's side headlight not burning the day we picked up this car from used dealer. returned to dealer following day. they sent it

there should be h 4 halogen bulbs in the car that do not require a ballast
ballasts are an after market fittment to run LED lights
if there is no requirement for the ballast then yes warranty is void
I suggest that you take it to an accredited auto electrician and discuss the problem as to why it would have a ballast and the potential wiring problems that could result

Go to the dealer and point out the part in the parts diagram. This is a dealer only part so you have to order from the dealer.

VW says to use their mineral oil in my 2003 Beetle Turbo S 6 speed manual gear box. Is there another source or better oil that is compatible with this gear box. Evidently the seals and o-rings will not...

Do your really want to use something else that someone tells you is compatible and risk damaging the transmission? Go to a VW dealer and purchase the correct oil and know you are using what you should use. It may cost a few extra dollars but in the end it is the smart thing to do.

How to add Auto Trans fluid to 1999 VW Beetle & what kind of fluid

Been there tried that. The unit is more or less sealed. You will need to go to a VW dealer to have the fluid checked and added, if required. Be very careful, there's an entry port on the top of the transmission that some cables/wires go through. If you break this seal there is no simple fix. It costs about $700 to have it replaced by the dealer.
