I have a 2001 grand prix how difficult is it to access the blower motor

It takes being a little flexible but they are not hard to get to. It should be located under the glove box under the dash on the passenger side. You have to kind of wedge yourself to lay on the floorboard to look at it. It is best for two people to do it so one can hand you the tools you need while you take it apart or put the new one in.

sounds like the blow motor resistor it should be located somewere near the blower maybe. under passenger side will be a wide plastic plug with about 4 or 5 wires..

Would like to find location of blower moter of a 2001 pontiac grand prix thank you!

The blower motor is located on bottom of the dash on the passenger side remove the black cover then remove the bolts on the blower and disconnect the wire.And behind the blower you will see the blower motor resistor.----------Check it.Thanks.

2001 Grand Prix: can't find the blower motor resistor on 2001 Grand...

Under the passenger side of the dashboard is a carpeted cover you'll need to remove. Once that's out of the way you'll see the blower motor on the RH side and just to the left of it right next to the frontwall is the blower motor resistor held in by two screws.
Here's a picture of the old design (right) versus the new design (left).

It is behind and underneath the glove box back by the firewall. No need to pull out the glovebox.You may need to pull the carpet back to get to one of the bolts.

Have your blower motor resistor checked. GM has had alot!!!!! of problems with these.

2001 tahoe blower

  • The blower resister sits behind the blower motor under the pasinger side dash. It is replacable without replacing the blower motor itself.

Instructions for installing a resistor for the blower motor on a 2001 pontiac gran prix

Its a straight forward job, the blower resistor is to the left of the blower motor and will have 2 screws holding it in. The blower is just above the passengers feet.

you need to follow your wires from the blower motor and either rewire it or run a new wire to the blower or heater
