Lose of spark

My car will die all of a sudden and lose the spark at the coil so i replaced it but it didn't help

You have a bad TFI module located under the distrbutor. Its gray and about 4.5" long.

Sounds like a bad coil. But a sensor like a module or an aging distributor cap and rotor are the most suspect. Take off the distributor cap and see if a white powdery substance is building up scrape it clean with a sharp knife... it may run for a few months best to replace the rotor and distributor cap

Coils typically DO NOT die as you describe. Something got knocked loose, keep looking. Look where you were leaning, as well as where you were working. leaning on a harness, for example, sometimes can dislodge at the OTHER end...

I have a 1988 ford 250. it just up and died and is getting no spark what so ever. I replaced the ignition module, pick up coil, coil itself, coil wire and still no spark. There must be a relay or something...


A very common problem with newer vehicles is the crankshaft sensor. If it goes bad it will not the engine to produce spark. Even dealerships miss this alot, don't know why, but alot of times these magnetic sensors go bad all of a sudden, and no one ever thinks about that sensor. I have replaced many of these on different cars for the same reason. I hope this helps dude.

you might need to check the fuel pressure while the car is going through its paces.

You can check to see if the fuel pressure regulator is failing at speed.

you probbably damaged the distributor coil when you pulled the wire off
recommendations:
try pulling battery lose for few and see if it helps
replace distibutor coil and wires to plugs and replace plugs

try replacing the coil, my 2.5 did the same thing, and after changing plugs,wires,distributor,rotor,rotor button . the last thing i repalced was the coil and i have not had an issue since. all work was done about 6 months ago.
