2001 Taurus - There is a loud squealing sound when I turn the steering wheel to the left only. Not when I turn right.

Check your power steering fluid level. If it's a creaking noise you may need new struts. If it's a squeal, then it's might be a loose or worn belt.

My lexus sc 300 makes a squealing sound when I start it, and when I turn the wheels sharply to the right and left (while it is parked and running. My power steering pump supposedly has to be replaced,...

Hi Genebaran, I doubt very much if the steering pump needs replacement, but the drive serpentine belt does. The squealing happens because the belt is slipping on the pump pulley when the pump is under load when the steering is turned to full lock. By the way, don't keep the steering wheel at full lock for longer than a few seconds at a time, as it will place the pump under too much load! Tell your mechanic to fit a new belt. Advise the mechanic to make a sketch of the routing of the belt before he removes the old one. Regards Johngee10

The noise comes from power steering oil box while it runs. but i don't know how to bleed or drains oil'

You do not say what the sound is? Squeal, Clicking or what.
Generally, you do not have to bleed or drain power steering fluid. Just be sure that the reservoir is full.
Based on past experience, your problem could be either your pump is failing, or more likely, you have a loose power steering belt.
Do this:
  • Start the car
  • Turn the steering wheel hard to the right
  • Does the sound occur? Is is a squealing sound? If so check the belts.

When I go to turn the wheel in my 2000 ford ranger I hear loud squealing noises. I checked the power steering fluid and its full. What can it be?The squealing starts as soon as I turn the wheel to the left...

The power steering pump is normally connected or driven by the engine with a V-belt. A loose belt can cause squealing as soon as the power steering come under load (e.g. steering left or right while stopped).

Check the tension on the V-belt directly connected to the power steering pump. This may need replacement.

Hoep this helps.

Steering creeks when turning left or right. front wheel noise.

My advise is when u get a humming noise when banking left or right. Its beter to change both left and right wheel bearing and ball joints. Cause if u think about it those parts are put on at the same time . So if u think about it they have the same where in Terre . left or right hope this helps you.

Only two choices a belt pulley bearing or the ps pump.
