How hard is it to replace the slave cylinder if it needs to be replace and bleeding the line, does not fix the problem.

SOURCE: how to bleed slave cylinder for 1997 suzuki

Hi if the sidekick is the same as the uk vitara then they don't have a slave cylinder just a clutch cable with a nut near the end to adjust it. If its like a grand vitara they have got a slave cylinder, just crack the bleed nipple off put one end of a small pipe on the end of the nipple and drop the other end in a bottle that is roughly half full of break and clutch fluid, ask someone to pump the clutch pedal until no more air bubbles are coming out then tighten the bleed nipple back up. make sure to keep a check on brake fluid levels while doing this.

How do I bleed a external clutch slave cylinder with no bleed screw on a 95 ford f250 turbo diesel


Need to remember that air rises. When replacing slave cylinder first hook everything up and bleed using the nut on the connecting line at the slave, then slowly depress and release pedal making sure to keep plenty of fluid in the reservoir, then after sitting a bit, tap on slave cylinder, line from bottom all the way up to the master, then loosen the nut connecting the line to the master and allow any air there to escape. Repeat whole process if needed.

either the master cylinder needs bleed or the slaves and servos need bleed
or both

i think if the pedal is hard then the master is jammed up and needs either replaced or a rebuild seal kit

if its soft its the slaves and the master is jammed on preasure

if you release the bleed points and fluid squirts out
its already compressed
so it must be one of the compression cylinders jamed on with preasure still in the system

Clutch pedal sticks coming back up when released quickly


You need to inspect the feed line if the return line is squezed or kinked in any place it will impede return and the cylinder will seem stuck. If the lines are servicable remove the cylinder and bench test and bleed. it might be a burr left in the cylinder. Also check travel of the pedal without the system in place. Finally When I replace one of these units I have to bleed it out of the vehicle with another person holding the slave cylinder because there is no bleed screw on the slave cylinder. If you removed the little brass screw you broke it. I find there is no way to get out all the air unless the slave cylinder is held verticle with consant pressure applied to the throw arm. Then when bled reinsert into vehicle.

Why does clutch leak off and wont go into gear 96 toyota tacoma when you push on clutch pedal goes to the floor it wont engage clutch to be able to put into gear


the most likely reason is either the clutch master cyl. needs to be replaced.or the.slave cyl. its mounted down on the transmation under the hood find the resivore for the clutch. check the fluid level.if its low , fill it back up , and look for signs of a leak
you will probally have to bleed out all of the air from the system.its done almost the same way as bleeding the brakes. Good Luck.

Clutch will not disengage pedal to the floor


Sounds like a Clutch Slave Cylinder. Check under your front canopy for a small reservoir (looks like a brake fluid reservoir) on the firewall inline with the brake pedal or it may be up under the dash. Check the fluid level. If it is low or empty you could refill it and bleed (drain the air) from the slave cylinder line, found where the transmision and engine connect. Just adding fluid wont fix it, as if it is this simple, you have air in the hydraulic line. This would be an easy fix. However, I think your Slave cylinder failed or you have a more serious clutch replacement ahead. The slave is easy, bolts on and then you just bleed the line as noted before. Any shop could replace a slave cylinder for 2-3 hours of labor. Good luck

Clutch pedal goes to floor


Its sounds like a bad clutch cylinder or bad slave cylinder or fluid leaking. First check brake fluid level in clutch master , and check for a leak in clutch system. If there are NO leaks, then you either have a bad clutch cylinder or a slave cylinder. Bleed clutch at bleeder screw on slave cylinder and make sure there is pressure from master cylinder. If there is pressure then slave cylinder may be bad replace slave and bleed and that should take care of you problem. If master is bad then replace bleed system ad you should be good. Bleeding clutch slave cylinder


i think youre doing the right thing. they are very stubborn to bleed because the hyd. line goes up high across back of engine before droppiing back down to slave cyl., trapping air. could try to gravity bleed by opening bleeder at slave, cap off of master cyl, full with fluid then it may start to come out after a bit. then try your process again. or can try to bleed at connections further up the line, working your way back to bleeder. hope this helps. be patient.
