Question about 1992 Honda Prelude
Your Prelude has two cooling fans ,fan 1 comes on when the engine is at working temperature , fan 2 comes on with the air conditioner . Check that both are working.

Transmission could be running hot. Most times tranny fluid also runs through the sides of the radiator. Or a transmission cooler somewhere near the radiator and in some cases will make temp gauge rise

you should have hot water on all rad. hoses when the motor is running at a norm. temp. the water is not going through the heater core like it should. you have cutoff valve bad low water are a stopped heater.try a hoter thermostat if none of the above are true.
