Failed inspection due to o2 sensor - check engine light

You need to get a new O2 sensor. You can change it yourself. Make sure engine is cold so you don't get burned. Unplug old sensor and unscrew. Install new sensor and plug in. You might need to get the code reset.

I installed new o2 senser and the light stays on -1992 trooper

Do you mean that the check engine light stays on after you installed a new O2 sensor?

Check for codes, again, and go from there.
