SOURCE: Nissan Xtrail 2001 model with Turbo. The AC

This may be because your cooling pump is either cam or belt driven from the engine rotation, the faster the engine revs at, the faster and better the pump pressure is.

The higher the pump speed the better coolant flow is and the heat exchanger can work better at cooling it as it is cooled faster.

Therefor, the faster you drive, the better the output, but at low idle revs, the performance is affected - not ideal if you are sat in traffic on a hot day!

Some people consider having the pump changed to an electric motor drive, but this can be costly and not really worth it.

Hope this helps.

How do i adjust idle on 2005 2.5 xtrail

You don't , it's computer controlled and if you change the factory preset ,you'll throw of the TP sensor causing a check engine light an codes . If the idle is not right , low or high there is a problem with the idle air control valve or a vacuum leak etc... Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

How to idle relearn proceedure for 2005 nissan xtrail

With a scanner try this: engine off unplug air flow meter, start engine (codes will set), while running connect sensor, clear codes-Voila! back to base idle. This was my find way before Nissan came out with a bulletin with the same procedure. Without a scanner you will have to get someone to clear the code for you (Auto-Zone)
