Question about 2004 Volvo XC90
I think the drain line may be plugged. The air runs cold for 10-15 minutes then blows warm. If I turn it off and wait 10-15 minutes it's cold again.
Most likely this is not caused by the drain. What is more likely is the Expansion Valve before the Evaporator core is going bad causing the evaporator to freeze.
Other things can cause this as well, like sensors, Radiator fans, or a failing compressor, or Relay.
A clogged drain is most likely going to cause a mist coming out of the vents and a wet floorboard. As far as I remember the drain is located up in the body works ans is very difficult to get to.
Those XC90's can be a bear to work on, especially the V8's

If the a/c runs for 10-15 minutes and then blows worm, it would not be the drain line.
Check and see if the outside blower ( cooling ) fans are engaging.
If they are not running, the unit will run into a high pressure overload and open power connection to the compressor.
Also, you may want to check the Freon level.

sounds like a vaccum diaphram may be leaking try listening for hissing noises under dash near the glove box,set blower to lowest setting\off if you can and still have a\c on.

I had exactly the same problem. When your engine is cold and off check the gap on your ac compressor with a feeler gauge, it should be between 0.3 and 0.5mm. If it is larger you need to re-shim which invloves undoing a nut on the end off the compressor and removing the clutch plate, then removing the appropriate shims (look like washers) then replace. The reason it blows warm after 10 minutes or so is because the ac compressor gets hot and the clutch gap gets too large for the electro-magnetic clutch to engage. Some people would say that you need a new compressor but all you need to do is a re-shim.
