Sounds like 2 problems.. 1. don't buy "rebuilt" batteries.. The fluid comning out implys that the battery is being overcharged by the alternator..(Or the battery is overfilled) couple of possibilities .. 1, the alternator has shorted out and is putting our really excessive voltage.. say like 20+ volts.. you can check this with a volt meter..(Don't have one?? they are real cheap at Harbor Freight Tools)) Should not be over 14.6 volts.. #2. The battery was "rebuilt" wrong and is only a 10volt battery instead of a 12 v battery in which case 14.6 v would be too many for it. I have not seen a "reconditioned/rebuilt" battery in years.. last one i saw was in southern Mexico about 20 years ago.

SOURCE: Ford 2003 Expedition EB. Check Charging System

Its probably the alternator. It will need to be tested on the vehicle with the engine running and the light illuminated. Measure the battery voltage with the engine running. It should be at least 13.5 volts. If it is lower have the alternator tested at a shop with a charging system tester.

Check gauges light on all the time. I replaced radiator cap and topped up coolant . Also checked and topped up engine oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid . All gauges show normal reading but the check...

The light says check gauges? This doesn't mean fluids are low. Look at the gauges, something is out of spec. A common one is the alternator, if the voltage drops below usually 12v, the light comes on.

There may be a thermostat problem, but your symtoms indicate low coolant level. When coolant is too low, it will not circulate, so you get no heat in car, and the coolant remaining in engine block overheats because no cool fluid coming in.
You need to fill the system up properly then look for leaks.
With cold engine, open radiator cap. Fill with antifreeze directly in radiator. Start engine, top up rad if level drops. Put heat control on Hot. Fan on low, heat on high. Gently rev engine and top up rad as needed. IF as engine heats up, it starts kicking fuild violently out of radiator, then the thermostat is bad. if not, then recap radiator, top up overflow bottle and you're done. Look under car for any sign of leaks. Steady dripping indicates a leak, then address that.

Hello, I am the owner of a 2005 jaguar x-type. Upon start up when driving away I notice a "gurgling" sound coming from the engine in the location of the glove box.

Sounds like air in cooling system. Coolant comes through to back of glove box area for your heat supply.
Have you noticed less available heat than normal?

Check the coolant level in radiator, not just the top up bottle. DO THIS WHEN ENGINE IS COLD as hot system is under pressure.

Possibility of head gasket leak suppling gases to coolant system. IF so may be producing some persistant heavy white steamy exhaust, though not necessarily.

Topping up coolant will (should) make noise go away at least temporarily. You should look to see if any obvious leaks or wet spots at hose clamps and heater hose connections.

When engine is cold, open Radiator cap, look down (flash light helps?) to see fluid level, should be full to top.
If not, top up with correct coolant mix, leaving cap off, start motor and allow to idle till warm. If level drops top off some more. Watch the fluid as it flows past cap opening. a few bubbles for a few mins may be normal, but continous stream of bubbles indicate head gasket leak. Turn on the heat in car to full, (not the fan, just heat level) gently rev the engine and top up fluid at same time, (2 people) replace cap. Done. If there are no apparent problems.

If noise returns or does not go away, you'll need a professional inspection.

The brake indicator light is flickering.

If it's flickering while driving, check to see if your brake fluid level is at max level line.
if not at max, add more fluid.
if at max, check brake reservior cap. there should be a float on a stick located under the cap. There shouldn't be any brake fluid inside the float.
If there's fluid in the float then replace brake resercior cap.
note:The float set the brake indicator light to let you know that brake fluid are low. Brake fluid inside the float cause it to sink making the car think that fluid are low.

Battery light is on intermittently. Battery is new.

If your vehicle has done over 120,000km then the alternator will need to be reconditioned shortly. The battery light coming on is an indicator that your alternator is not charging properly.
So you should get your vehicle to a good auto-electrician asap before your battery starts to go flat.

Brake light comes on dash when brakeing then off with acceleration

hi 1st thing to check is the brake fluid level is topped up as the reservoir has a sensor fitted to cap so as brake pads/shoes wear the fluid is displaced from reservoir to compensate cylinders hence fluid level falls and puts light on as you brake ? also possibility is that your pads may be fitted with low brake pads warning indicators/wires which also puts same light on as you brake and goes off when you let off to accelerate ? check both of these possibilities if you req more help/advice by all means come back with info

It is your transmission control unit (TCU) This is located under the passenger rug next to the main computer. I just purchased a reconditioned TCU for my 91 accord from an ebay seller called allcomputerresources. If he does not list a 91 accord TCU, then contact him to see if he can get one quickly. He will send it, and then you send the old one in as a core. My unit is running fine, and costs considerably less than from a dealer.
