Question about 2002 Jeep Liberty
No engines size stated.
what is your ambient temperature, -40F or 85F like here,
like Alaska or key west, must we guess this?
does dash blower work on high, ?
is engine overheating, if yes, parked the PCM cuts AC.
but A/C works great moving fast, ?
and works better in RECIRC mode, as all do?????????
well , why not check the condenser fan first. is it working?
after all how can a condenser work with little air blowing there.
get it serviced first.
KJ jeep usa.
try to avoid guessing
check fuses first, and for fans check carefully
condensor uses rad fan to suck in air.
if the fins on rad or condensor clogged, AC will be weak or engine may overheat, or both. (one path of air there so....)
did you scan it first. that be first for sure.......
read page 4 (chapter24 yet>?)
says to check blend doors first.
did you run the HVAC self tests yet.
and last, check R134a pressure, per FSM.
the pressure correct are from a chart of ambient and humidity
if over charged, a/c will be weak.
the book covers all this
is the compressor clutch cycling over and over?
or does it drop off, parked? idling?
and last the front fan rules
ELECTRIC FAN at RAD.
Vehicles Equipped with AC: In addition to using
coolant temperature and battery temperature sensor
to control cooling fan operation, the cooling fan will
also be engaged when the ,air conditioning system is
activated. The relay is also energized when, air conditioning
is selected and coolant temperature is
above 95° C ( 203° F), or , air conditioning is selected
and battery temperature sensor is above 41° C (106°
F). It will then de-energize when , air conditioning is
selected and coolant temperature is below 92° C
(198° F), or , air conditioning is selected and battery
temperature is below 38° C (100° F).

Typical problem of R-134 freon. It just doesn't perform well at idle, though hardware changes over the years have improved performance in later models.
However, be sure to cover the bases. Check freon charge with gauge set. Don't guess. Make sure the pressures are correct and that cooling fan is functional and nothing restricting air flow at condenser & radiator. High pressure from car wash wands can fold-over the cooling fins at radiator thus restricting air flow. I suspect all this is good but you should make certain to remove any doubt.
